Ear Cropping?

What are your thoughts on ear cropping? I'm thinking about cropping my pups ears! Is it good or bad? If good, what is the best age to do so?

Cropping is up to the individual. Most go up to 14 or 16 weeks I think.
Some dogs look amazing with a crop, some dogs look amazing with ears. Ecko is not cropped, but the next one will be.

Ear Cropping?

I got my pup with her ears cropped, and I think they look great on her. With blocky heads I like the ear crop. Some do it because their ears are naturally quirky. People down here think it's in humane and completely associate it to dog fighting...probably not true anyways.

Mine had her done probably at 7-8 weeks, because I got her at 9-10 weeks. I had to post her ears because they were flopping around.

My Pups ears were already done when we got her. And we got her at 5 1/2 weeks. I like it. But in all honesty if they hadn't been done already I probably wouldn't have did it myself thinking it would hurt her too much.

Ear Cropping?

I like cropped ears and so does my husband. We kept Cains natural because his ears were too cute! Lol and I'm glad I didn't because his ears go with his personality. But our next one will be cropped we have decided.

Ear Cropping?

I am not a fan at all. There are only a few dogs I like with a crop. Everyone has an opinion, and we have tons of threads on them. Some people do it up to a year. In my state it's not allowed to crop past 4 months. Make sure you find a vet and don't do a home crop PLEASE

Ear Cropping?

I posted some supporting words to a fellow pittie owner who cropped her pup's ears, so she's taping them and all. I was just being friendly and some random person got on my photos to comment about how inhumane ear cropping was. I thought it was strange because I didn't choose to crop my pup's ears, but I don't mind that people do it as long as the dog is well-taken care of.

It was on Instagram, but boy oh boy it was starting to flame with the fires of Internet rage.

Like I mentioned before, it is a personal choice and it might get tough if you live in a super-PETA and Whole Foods community. People like to feel above others by "educating/lecturing" you about how to treat and take care of your pup.
