Could be an allergy. My boy shook his head viciously until I figured out what he was allergic too. His was a food allergy. No grains and no chicken based kibble. There's a lot it could be if it is an allergy but I started with food. What are you feeding? Have you changed anything recently? Like laundry soap etc.

Qtips are horrible for humans as well as dogs you shouldn't use them. All they do is push the wax in further. How often to you bathe you dog? Or clean his ears?

I agree though sounds like an allergy if they are itching your pup. Food or seasonal is what you need to figure out.

If the food is a low quality food or has grains, chances are her body has just finally had enough of the grains/poor quality. Pups are usually ok, it's once the get a little older that the allergies come out.

I suggest grain free food. Acana, Orijen, wellness CORE, Instinct (grain free) or if your budget doesn't allow for a more expensive quality food then try out Taste of the Wild, 4Health...both available at the tractor supply store.

I have a solution that I use once a month. It has done wonders for my dogs ears. I just squirt it in and massage his ear then let go and run lol. He shakes it all out.

yeah water during bath time is what I use for my boy, je isnt out on the yard though so I can control his dirt level. There are wipes and solutions like Cain's mom mentioned above that you just put in and they shake out to clean them up.

I would try to go for a grain free food. I used to have my boy on benadryl but you don't want them to get immune to it in case you need it (bug bite, hive or something) so I found the food that worked best and put him on Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) bee pollen and honey; his seasonal allergies are gone, no benadryl for the first time this summer (my boy is almost 5)

It's a solution I mix myself but its worked great. Cain got a lot of gunk in his ears and before I went to the vet for infection I wanted to clean it to see if that was all. My mil have me a home remedy ear cleaner for dogs and I used it and it did great.
