Angel Baby... thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I asked on Mugen's thread specifically because our dogs are almost identical in appearance and because I get asked that question a lot.

For those of us who have been here for a while we see the same questions repeated over and over and over and over and...you get the point. Considering this forum has a good number of years under it's belt that is a good number of years worth of a wealth of information - much of it repeating itself often, such as the subject at hand: purity of unpapered dogs.
So while yes, this forum is a great place to learn, you can learn by reading existing threads on the topic you have questions in. When it comes to pit bulls, chances are we've probably already answered it unless it pertains you your dog specifically. So using the search function is a great tool.
So you're right, there are no "dumb questions" or one of my philosophies "you'll never know unless you ask" but if the question has already been asked and the answers are already available for you to find, then it probably doesn't need to be asked for the thousandth time.

Funny, initially I had wanted to ask the "experts" in here their opinion based on my photos, what they thought my boys may be mixed with. Not because I am concerned about purity, I rescued from pounds and around here, even if they claimed they were "pure blood" I would doubt the integrity of that very much.
I was just curious. Plain and simple, I kinda wanted to know what the potential blood lines could be just like I want to know who my great great grandparents are, not because it would change anything except satisfying a question. I honestly had someone tell me that one of my boys looks like a cross between a Boxer & a Boston Terrier. Uh, not so much. But being new to bully's I didn't know any of the specifics. Thank god I didn't ask like some idiot! I mean with a new pet, health issues, acclimation period and trying to research some basic firsts like local laws, best food and most important training to start with, finding out about the look wasn't really on top of my priority scale.
But since adopting and researching I am learning about (part) of the breeds I have and find that one very much fits the personality profile, as well as the look, and the other? Laid back, easy to direct, and with the exception of getting on the couch when I am in bed, pretty obedient and easy going.
Additionally, when I very first came in here, I was corrected by another user for spelling pit with 2 t's. It was actually a typo because I was working on an Ipad, plus I have MS and don't always have accuracy with my fingers(or my brain) but I rather assumed this was no place for gray area....
Either way, I will sort out whatever may be mixed in them on my own, but they are loved and adored no matter the mix. But as annoying as I am sure it is for those of you who have been here forever and already have a wealth of knowledge, a lot of us who stumble in are new and are a bit over whelmed with all the things that need tended to first. I had done research on the breed for a dog that I had years ago that was a pit/bloodhound mix so I was aware of what I was getting into however, I didn't have a fraction of the info I have now.

It is not meant to make anyone feel stupid or anything it is to save time. Like you said you wanted to show pictures and have us guess as to the breed, we cant tell by looking at a dog what is in there, you can have am bullys, boxer, bulldogs, apbt, dogo, american bulldog, ect ect that all have similar looks so having even 2 of those breeds in there it can very well look pure. The only way to tell is papers.. If you dont have them just call it a mix or mutt or bulldog breed.
If you have an obvious bully breed mix obviously the same knowledge on the breed would apply to your dog, read up on behaviour, traits known to the breed like DA , and other info specific to the breed as you will still use that same approach and training a mix of the breed as you would a pure breed.
This thread is just meant for those like you who come on wanting to post pictures to "Guess " what the breed is, just easier to send people to pone thread or if we are lucky they will find it on there own like you did and save the time of posting the same question over.
As for pictures we would love to see pictures , we always love seeing new dogs here. The papers shouldn't matter to you if you rescued knowing there was no papers so just accept him/her for what they are, a great dog. I wish we could tell from looking at a dog what the breed is , would make things alot easier especially in the shelter cases but we cant.

Being sure of a pet dog's pedigree is of vital concern for dog owners. It is very important that when deciding to have a 'blue blooded' puppy, one must procure from a registered breeder, recognised by kennel clubs of you state, and with papers.

in all the years that i have been seeing apbt's, unless you have the pedigree IN YOUR HAND there is no way of really knowing.
now with that being said, there are exceptions to every rule. a long time ago, a fella came across a little dog [no papers], but he thought he looked like a pit bull. he looked at him and then decided he was worth a bet. he won the 1st did really look that hartd for him. next time found a little stiffer compotition he won that one also, and the next one which made 3 so he was a champion. from what i understand, on the 4th one he had to go fairly deep in the well, think it went a little over 2hrs, and he came back from behind to win #4 which showed his gameness. his 5th was against another champion i believe. after he won that one he became
GRAND CHAMPION '35'
so by collecting 5 wins over reputable dogmen, and showing his gameness along the way i think you would have a hard time convincing anyone that he was anything but an AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER

that really was a long time ago, a time many would claim was simpler. That time no longer exist (for the most part). so for many who come on here looking at this thread their dog is not an apbt and will never be considered one.
