My new project
Otherwise titled, Yes, I AM a sucker
Shelter called and asked me to take a Demodex puppy..... no big, Demodex is easily treated. Um, yea, I was NOT expecting THIS

Poor little mite. Someone dumped her, the shelter was going to put her down because it is so severe and they are over crowded. Going to be a long haul, lol

The pouty underbite lip slays me, lol. She has beautiful eyes and is going to be quite a nice looking girl once she isn't crusty..... and bald. I placed her in a wonderful Foster home for the time being, since I work all day and she really needs round the clock care right now. Foster homes are a rescue's life blood and good ones are worth their weight in gold!
She has a little blog now too. It's pretty freaking entertaining, lol

Her improvement is wonderful did you post this when you first got her if you did she's really came a looong way in less then a month.Looking at her first pics I would have expected it to take months to get her in the shape she's in now all the crusty skin and open sores on her it had to be misery for her. Thanks for being kind enough to take care of the cruelty caused by some piece of sh#t excuse of a human being. To bad we couldn't make the person responsible for her condition feel the pain and misery she did! Bless You for taking her in and finding her a foster home to give her the remarkable care she needed and deserves! The world would be a better place if everyone was half as kind and compassionate as you and the foster family. Is she back with you now?I would love to foster but like angelbaby get to attached to fast and would not wanna part with them when the time came. She's beautiful bald cant wait to see how gorgeous she is when her hair grows back!GREAT JOB AND GOD BLESS

my new project
When I first got my Lacy Lou at a year old, she was abused, emaciated, and had a yeast infection all over body. She was only 20lbs! She's pretty good now although it took almost a year to get her back up to where she needed to be. A very healthy 80lb dog. By the way, that is one adorable pup.

Yep, that is just 3 weeks later. No, she isn't with me, she will remain in her foster home until she is off meds and will be adopted out. My rescue also took in 4 other Demo pups (the shelter apparently now thinks my rescues name is DERT (Demodex Emergency Response Team) but I have a hard time saying no to such an easily treated disease. The shelter doesn't have the resources to rehab these cases, so they just put them down.
One of our pups died hours after we got her because the shelter didn't tell me they had her and she sat there for a week before we were called in. She died of an upper respiratory disease that was secondary to the demo. Ella and the other two are doing awesome.
