Getting Diego back!!?

Ok so I need some opinions/help!!! I have the opportunity to get my boy Diego back but the only thing is that he has been a house dog forever! An the only way my wife will let me have him back is if he stays outside!! She doesn't want him inside because he is about 90lbs an she jst doesn't want a dog that big inside! So my question is will he be ok an is it right for me to put him outside after being inside for so long? This is a hard one because he is like my son an I wld do anything for him I jst want him to be happy!! An althought right now he is an inside dog he get absolutely no exercise other than goin out back to use the bathroom! All comments are welcome!!

build him a swanky kennel and you won't feel bad. you might even join him.

MrsKifer is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't necessarily agree that he should be forced to stay outside but if he must... Make sure he's comfortable, clean and safe with plenty of room and a roofed shelter.... Also make sure he's on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives as living outside increases his risk for all 3. Congrats

It's coming on winter now. A dog that has been kept inside much of his life may have a hard time adjusting, especially in harsher weather, to life outside. You are asking for both physical and psychological transition for the dog. Some dogs handle this better than others. You wouldn't put your son outside without shelter or interaction, so you would need to be sure Diego is provided the same.
I don't quite follow the 90 pound dog being 'too large' for the house? That's not bigger than a 10 year old child, dogs take up less room, really, than kids. Are there other issues besides the 'large dog should be outside'? Will she let you keep him inside (maybe in a crate) when it is cold?

I would say it depends on where you are and how long he has been insides. Some dogs were born for the chain, others HATE the chain life. Depends on the dog. Also sounds like an excuse of not wanting a 90lb dog in the house. Why did you give him up and why is he coming back to you? Being a house dog or being in the kennel or on a chain, the dog still need lots of exercise. Just being outside isn't working your pup.

Sry my response took so long had to change out my water heater last night ugh!!! I live in northwest Alabama so it's not extremely cold in the winter! An the reasoning of this whole thing is that when me an my exwife separated I moved inside the city limits! I know dumb on my part for not makin sure there were no laws there before I moved but thats done now! Anyway my ex mother an father in law took him in! Now I'm back in the country an there getting older an cant really handle a 90lbs monster!! That's one reason he's not getting his exercise because they can't hold him! So they have asked me if I want him back! In response to kingsgurl there's no other reasoning for her than the big dogs sld be outside! An yes when it gets really cold he will be able to come in at night in the crate!

You can't work on her to give in? I think it would be hard to make a lifetime inside dog suddenly and outside dog...
