3 months old pup only eats when im present??

so my pup is 13 weeks now and im starting to have to leave her alone for a good 8 hours at the most for work....when i do leave her alone she doesnt eat her food! and seems like she doesnt really drink that much water.....i know she plays with her toys cus they're always all over the place

as soon as i put her food where it normally goes she eats....shell eat it in the bathroom to if im in there other than that she wont eat

i did train her to sit when i put her food down until i say eat...does that have anything to do with this?? i know pups need to eat throughout the day she's healthy went to the vet last week and everything was great

any thoughts or ideas??

I don't know much, but my mastiff does that. She won't eat when no one is home. We were told there was both g wrong with it... But I'm not a great source just giving my experience

I'm sure mine would eat if it was available to him. But he has set meal times. Although, he does the sit before an the ok to eat like you but if I walk to where he can't see me he moves to where he can and just stares at me. I generally have to be pretty close for him to eat all his food. I thought it was just a weird habit of his he had haha

You need to teach her to eat when you put the food down. Is your pup crate trained?
It sounds like you are leaving the food down all day and you shouldn't do that. Feed twice a day a measured amount. Put the food down for 5 min and if she doesn't eat pick it up. Then for dinner put the same meal she didn't eat down. If she didn't eat oh well, no food for the day. The next day repeat. Dogs are not dumb they will not starve themselves. It's important to build a good feeding pattern now before it becomes a problem. She will get hungry enough to eat when you offer her the food and know that she has to eat it right away not wait all day.

i feed her twice a day when she has to stay by herself..once when i leave and then when i get back....very rarely did she finish her food , if she didnt i take that food put it in my room and she goes at it....when im with her and give her her bowl of food she doesnt wait she finishes all of it...which is why i find it weird that she doesnt eat her food when its right there....other than that shes a vacuum pretty much lol
