bull terrier information

I've been approached about taking in a bull terrier and before I do that I was wondering if anybody on here has experience with bull terriers. This girl really needs a new home. Is there any big issues I should consider before I go any farther. All the background information I have is she's an owner surrender due to moving. I figured somebody's puppy machine, but no, she's already spayed. The shelter director wants me to adopt or atleast foster to get her out of the stress of the shelter. Been tested with dogs and cats and passed with flying colors, gentle played with dogs and ignored the cats.

I have to be upfront and say I want to do this, but I don't want to jump off the cliff before I see what around me and below the cliff- if y'all get my meaning. So, anybody with experience with this breed please, chime in.

Thanks!

I had a bull terrier and they are typically feisty little terriers with a lot of spunk and oh so stubborn! I miss mine so much! Anyway, they definitely can be very dog aggressive. Just like pit bulls, you should never leave them alone with another dog or any animal. I would say the same rules apply to bull terriers as apply to pit bulls. Post pictures of her if you decide you are up for the challenge!

Great news! The director was able to home her! I'm still on the list "just in case" but if the new lady checks out... then Bella (original-right?) has a home. We are the pinch people for our local shelter. Our dane is pushing 9 and I was insure about adding anybody to the house, but if it means helping to save another dog we're in there.

thanks coach for your input. We had loaded the crate up and our girl to go meet the new gal, but after a call to Linda we're tickled to death with the outcome.

I had a bull terrier when I lived in Mexico. I loved the dog!! His name was spike (original as well LOL). It was my ex husbands cousins dog. He gave it to me because it wasn't aggressive enough. He got along great with the chihuahua that my grandmother in law had and with the cat they had as well. Very loving and VERY high energy. I would have another in a heartbeat.
