Help me get her "in shape". (:

Well, my female brindle is usually an outside dog, but since winter is coming she has been inside so I'm not quit sure how to keep her in shape for the winter since she'll be inside most of the day and throughout the night. I would also like to change her over to Raw Food instead of her Kibble. Opinions and Raw Food please? Is it worth switching over and spending the money?
Here's a pic of Nitas weight when she was about 9 mo.

I can't offer any advise on raw, I feed BB. You can cut back on food intake since she won't be as active and use a kibble feeder where they have to work for their kibble and offer raw veggies as an alternative. Still take on walks but get a back pack for her to carry. Make sure the weight is balanced. I use soup cans, start with a small amount and increase the weight. Look at a treadmill (where I live you can find them on freecycle.com for free) and adapt it for a dog. Play while in the house, tug, ball toss, provide mental stimulation toys.

You can also try for a better quality kibble like Acana and Orijen. They are as close to feeding raw as you can get, without feeding raw. Take a look at the Heath and Nutrition sections there is a sub forum for feeding raw if that's how you go. I know so many people that swear by it and its not as expensive as you might think once you get the hang of it. Contact local butchers and ask how much their scrapes are or if they can order for you in bulk. The key is to have a big freezer and portion out the meals each month.

I am all for the treadmill and so is my boy the last few days since the weather has been crappy. Your pup is so beautiful! Thank you for the kind words on my boys picture.

You can still take her out for her to get exercise in the winter... cut back on her intake a little and dont keep her cooped up all the time
