Sick puppy

What do you feed your pup when he or she is sick? Pup has a case of the diarreha and I am not sure how to clear it up. Would yogurt do the trick? I have also heard that canned pumpkin works for this as well. Does it?

We bought an English bulldog a few years back and the lady that sold her to us swore by canned pumpkin. She would give a couple of spoonfuls and the diarrhea would clear right up!

I use canned pumpkin for my two. It's a miracle worker for sure!

Why does the pup have the runs should be something you need to figure out before trying to "fix" it. Pumpkin may help, but find out why and remedy that is a better plan. Did you change food? Did the pup get into something?

Our 5 1/2 wk old blue nose had them ALL last week. We tried bland rice, pumpkin, regular puppy food with warm water (not grease) to soften it. We took her to the Vet for her initial check up and shots, Friday (yesterday). She tested positive on her fecal test for some funky type of worms that are usually obtained in breeder kennels. She gave us an oral liquid medication, and today she is pooping a solid stool. Thank God!!!

Oh sorry I should have stated that the dog was on an antibiotic and that gave the pup the runs.

If you get pumpkin make sure it is pure pumpkin not pumpkin puree or mix, they don't work. This is also the time of the year you are give them whole pumpkins (not pie pumpkins). Wash it off with water throw in the yard and let them have at it. Beastley loves this time of the year, he usually gets one every other week and he just loves them, yes they can eat all of it seeds included.
