Licking @ paws

I'm new here and have introduced myself in the proper board
My big baby of a pitbull has what looks like a bug bite or some
kind of reaction to something in our yard. I have cleaned the wound
a few times for him and he leaves it alone for a few days but then
back @ it he goes..... I'm posting a pic of the wound, I just want to
make sure if we go to the vet it will not be something i could have
fixed by diet, yard cleaning etc etc.

Get a Cone of Shame aka Elizabethan Collar. (plasitc cone)
That will stop the licking and give it time to heal up a bit.
I use a tablespoon of Coconut oil, 3-r drops of coloidal silver, 3-4 drops greepseed oil extract or tea tree oil, mixed well and placed on the wound a couple of times per day.
Benedryl when it looks really bad or seems to itch the most.
Ecko had a wasp bite on his elbow a few months ago, and that's what I did for him. Cleared up fairly quickly. The cone is the key.
Hope this helps.
Also, welcome to GP.

Sorry, I meant 3-4 drops. Sometimes I type faster then I think.
Vets office, Petco, Petsmart, pretty much any pet store, even some boarding facilities carry the cone of shame. I bought mine online as it was cheaper there. BTW, fabric cones are a no go when dealing with the itchy and persistant bulldog. Ecko scratched his right off. Stick with the plastic one. It'll last longer.

We got our cone for the vet. It was a great investment for us. Your dog will most likely hate it but it will allow the wound to heal. If it does not heal then you know you will need to get him to the vet.

I LOVE the pro collar
The ProCollar

and if it gets any worse and not better your pup might need some antibiotics...
I also got some great horse/Dog neosporin that worked wonderfully with my pup at the TSC.
