couple of questions

1. I was wondering if anyone feeds there dog Authority brand food? I get it at petsmart.. here is the link http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo

They both seem to be doing great on it, I just don't know anyone else that feeds there dog this brand... plus people are giving me strange looks when I tell them I feed my dogs this brand

2. About spaying and neutering... I have siblings we want to get them both done at the same time but I've never had to dogs post surgery together... anyone else experience this? Is it a good idea or should we do one at a time?? I am going to wait until they are 6 months or so but I don't want to wait too long with my female because I don't think I could handle going through heat with her... The male I want him neutered as well, if I have to wait a little bit Id rather wait with him than with my female.. Also.. how old was your female when she went through her first heat... I have heard mixed answers

Not a horrible food but it does have some fillers like the corn, Diamond naturals is a good food well priced with no corn wheat or soy and so is the dogs food from costco called kirkland signature. But if your dogs are doing good then it's an ok food.

If you do them both at the same time then be prepared to keep them separate and crated for at lest a week while they heal up. It might be better to do at once so they can be crated at the same time then it's done and over with.

You should wait to fix them till they have matured no earlier than 18 months ideally over 2 years old. God gave us hormones and for an animal to properly mature they need those hormones to grow. Without them they never reach full genetic potential. Also don't buy into the crap some vets will tell you about cancer risks going down and all this other crap. It's really insignificant in the scheme of things and really a bunch of BS to get you to S/N your dogs. NOW comes the responsibility part..... Only wait to get them fixed if you are willing to separate them while your female is in heat, not just crated but in separate rooms crated. If you are responsible enough to keep your animals from breeding then you can wait. If you do not want to deal with it, or don't feel like you can do that then by all means S/N by 6 months of age.

Thank you very much!!! I don't want to have to spay and neuter before they need to be, but both The co-owner and I work in law enforcement and we don't have the ability to handle my female being in heat....they are both just good old family dogs, they are for sport or breeding... I want what best for them but I also don't want to put them into a position where I can't help them because we aren't prepared or on a normal set schedule...not try to make an excuse just want the best situation for all of us... Thanks for all the help!!!

well that's a perfect reason to get them fixed before they are at reproductive age! Good luck they are super cute!
