Possible UTI. :( What to do?

He's 6 weeks old. And please don't lecture me on how he's to young. My sister got him at 3 weeks and wanted to get rid of him. So I took him in to ensure he went to a good home. So since he's missing this crucial time with his litter I'm putting lots of effort into training. The only thing concerning me is he pees ALOT. He'll pee a big puddle so I assume he's relieving himself. Okay not a big deal. But then after that he'll pee like every 10 - 15 minutes. And it's only small puddles. Could it be he's just a puppy or could it be a UTI? I can't get him to the vet for shots and a checkup until the end of the month around the 23rd.

Hard to say, I am sure others might chime in. Do you stop his water every night and does he still pee? If he does it totally could be, looks like you need to suck it up and get him in. Has he been seen at all since your sister or you got him? I would find a vet willing to work with you if Money is the issue, but potentially 9 days with an infection on a puppy is unacceptable IMO

If he pees little amounts every 10-15 mins my guess is a UTI. Delaying vet care is not good a idea as you can create a dirty dog where he doesn't mind sitting in his pee and the bigger problem is it can cause permanent damage to wait. I would get to a vet

Okay I'll try to get him to a vet earlier. Money is an issue I just moved recently so money's been tight so I can't get him there until the 23 Ed for deworming, shots, ect. But he doesn't pee in his kennel. He only pees when he's running around the living room. Could it be excitement? And if it is a UTI does anybody know the procedure to fix it and how much it might cost?

If it's a UTI the easiest way to try and fix it is go to the vet and put him on at least 10 days of clavamox. The vet visit plus antibiotics should be under 100 bucks. They might want to to a UA test but I would save the money and just put on antibiotics. You could try just taking him out every 15 mins. If he feels urge to pee all the time though it could very well be a UTI or it could be behavioral and will get better with time. I just take UTI's seriously in little pups. I knew a few dogs who were not treated right away and ended up with life long problems.

I can't get him to a vet until the 23rd. Believe me I really want to before then. But I can't. Is there anything I can do until then? It's one week. Also he doesn't seem like he's in pain or anything but I still won't take any chances.

Its not just about pain, its about life long issues with the bathroom, like forever. Plus if its what he is used too, how does he know he is in pain? and not being wormed, do you have any other animals around where you live? Make sure you keep this dog away from where all other animals walk or you risk infecting them with disease he has not been vaccinated from. Unless you plan on raising your dog outside, I would get him in or find someone else who can afford to care for him. Emergency things come up all the time. Please see the thread so you understand what you have undertaken and how serious it is. If a dog need medical attention, you can't put it off.
Cost of owning a dog.

Consider skipping a couple of lunches of your own to save $$ for a week if you have to - don't let him suffer over an unknown situation....
