Need help, dog wont eat

So the last few days my pup has only taken a bite or two then calls it a day. Before this he would scarf his food down no questions asked. His personality seems to be the same, very happy and playful, but he just wont eat. I tryed a different food just to see if it was the food he didnt like and that was a no go. Ive been feeding him Canidae for a little over a week now and prior to that i was feeding Purina One heathly puppy formula(not sure if the food has anything to do with it. He is getting skinny and making me nervious. I put some milk in his food today and he ate it, but at a slow pace.

When im getting his food ready he gets all excited like normal, but when i put it down for him to eat he sniffs takes a few bites and is done.

He is current on all his shots and Today at 4:30 im going to the vet for his next series. I will ask them when i get there but if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

he is 13wks old.

He may not like the new food yet. There are a couple of tricks you can try.
Mix in his old food with the new and then wean it out.
Get food 'gravy' at petmart and mix it in with your food.
Mix in a wet food.

Other than that I would ask the vet when you go

Thanks for the quick reply. I did exactly what you said. When i first switched his food i mixed it and then slowly decreased the mix to favor the new food. All was well until just a few days ago.

Ill give those ideas a shot if the vet cant find any health problem associated with this.

If the pup is healthy...peeing and pooping normally, I would just add a bit of bacon grease to the food. If it still wont eat then I might worry. I am however hard on my dogs. I give them what I want and if they don't like it they don't eat. I will add things in the food to make them eat if they start looking skinny but other than that I will let them fast for a day. One day of fasting is not bad unless the puppy is very young or very thin.

ok well just got back from the vet. Stool looks good, Temp. is good, temperment is still upbeat.

the vet thinks it may just be growing pains as he did eat the treats she gave him and he does show interest in his food. She metion basically the same ideas you all have given me.

He is 13wks and 2 days old. He weighed exactly 21lbs on the vet scale. The vet said he did look a little skinny but his weight didnt look to bad. He will get his de worm pill tomorrow.

It took me literally MONTHS to get something max would eat.
He'd eat it for a day, then sniff it and not eat. Plus he's so sensitive to certain ingredients he was always having diahrrea.
I finally got him to eat Taste Of The Wild from concord pets. He loves it and he's put on weight beautifully since....and he's 8 months this week.

Dogs do not require variety.
A dog will not starve itself.
Give the food you want to give, if he doesn't eat it withing 20 minutes pick it up and give it to him at the next meal time. After a few times of doing that I assure you the dog will eat whatever you put in front of him. If you change his diet often you can cause loose stools, pancreatitis, and just plain spoil the dog. In my house I am boss Dog and you eat what I let you eat or don't eat at all!

I wouldn't add anything to his food except maybe water or a little bit of olive oil. Don't add anything that you don't want to be commited to adding all the time. Dogs are clever, and you don't want him figuring out that if he holds out on his food, you'll come along with something to sweeten the deal. Then it'll become a game of what can you bribe him with today. Put down the food bowl for 5 minutes, and then pick it up if he hasn't eaten. Next mealtime, do the same. (Offer the food maybe 3 times a day.) He will learn that you control the food, and if he wants to eat, he needs to eat when and what you feed him.
