Hello! About a month ago I dove head first into the world of bully breeds. I've learned a lot, but I still have a lot to learn.
I have 2 dogs. Hallie is a 4 year old tricolor Beagle who competes in competitive obedience and rally, and she's also a good demo dog at the kennel club. Long story short, Hallie needed a friend. She's kinda antisocial. She sticks to me like glue but hates any type of affection, she's a dog dog. I volunteer at the local shelter. Two 'pit bull' puppies were abandoned in a house after the owner got evicted. This is where I got Axel. I temperament tested Axel myself. I shoved newborn kittens in his face, made kids run around him, stuck a fake hand in his food bowl, tested him with different types of other dogs. He passed with flying colors. Since the shelter has an 80% kill rate, I figured I better adopt this special dog. I've been absolutely blessed with him. He's potty trained at 4 months, and listens to every word I say.
He has already started training to become a therapy dog when he is old enough. I plan to use him to fight breed discrimination, even though he isn't a purebred Pit Bull.
That didn't exactly turn out to be a 'long story short'. Oh well.
Here are my babies-
