Welcome to the forum.

Blue nose is just a stupid slang term someone made up. BYBs(back yard breeders) use this to try and make their dogs sound rare or special when it is not. It is not a kind, type, or bloodline at all. Blue nose just means that the dog has a blue colored nose. Ive seen many many people advertise half blue nose, half red nose pit pups for sale. Lol that is physically impossible. The dog would literally have to have a butterfly nose with red and blue which is genetically impossible. Nose color has no meaning what so ever. There are no such thing as different kinds or "types" of "pits" Its either an American Pit Bull Terrier or its not. Being as your dog is a dark chocolate color it would be impossible for it to have a blue nose. Chocolate, is pretty much just saying dark red or brown, in which the nose would be some shade of red, more than likely darker like the dog itself. Then there are dogs like mine who can appear to be a chocolate or brown, but also looks black or blue depending on the light. This is called seal. The dog appears to be black but as the light changes you can see the brown and blue undertones. Even though his fur appears different in different lighting the nose still remains black. The only way to tell what breed of dog you have, wether its
APBT, American Bully, or American Staffordshire Terrier, would be to look at his registry papers and see what his lineage is. Did he come with any papers or did you guys not bother since dude was headed to jail?
