There is no way to tell what breed the pup may be with out papers from a registry. Remember pit bull is not a breed its a word used to describe many breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully, American Bulldogs, Boxers, Persas, Cane Corsos, Dogo Argentina, even lab mixes are often mislabeled as "pit bulls"

If you don't have papers there's no way to know.

He's very cute. But very small. How did you get him at 6 weeks? I know sometimes there are special circumstances but puppies shouldn't be weened until 8 weeks.

Nope. If he was just found as a stray then your guess is as good as ours. The thing with puppies too, is a lot of different breeds look super similar when they're really young like that. It may look 100% different as it grows, it just so hard to tell.

If you want you can get puppy formula at Petsmart or even Walmart. But if take him to the vet for sure and see what they tell you. He def needs nourishment.

I'd also have them check his legs out at the vet. He looks like he's knuckling over, or it could just be how he's standing. If he is knuckling over usually it can be corrected and the dog will grow out of it, just make sure you keep an eye on that and change his diet if need be.

he is adorable! but unfortunately there is no way to tell what he is without a pedigree....

um, stay away from pedigree and gravy train and all that crap... no good. there is a section in the forum that talks about food... i personally feed orijen... but it is a high protein diet that may be too harsh for a puppy that young....

best of luck, and chip off those nuts

Very cute! A quick way to figure out food is if you can buy it at Walmart or a grocery store it isn't very good quality IMO. I feed my dogs all Nutro Naturals I think it gets a b on the scale here. I tried the higher grade food and we had problems with diarrhea which my vet said was because they weren't working dogs it was a little too high of protein. My dogs all have soft shiny coats and it isn't outrageously high (not cheap either.)
