Well a lot of people say pit bull and do not mean the American pit bull terrier so I just wanted to get clarification. There was a thread a while back I can't fun it from my phone search for some reason. What kind of dog are you looking for work? Pet? Show?

I would start by searching in here to see what bloodlines you are interested in. Then see if there is a reputable breeder who have those lines if their yard and see if you can work for them or they could help you learn. There are many many factors to learn before breeding. It should not just be about getting a dog. Look at some threads about bloodlines and what not and go from there.

Don't buy a pit bull. Adopt from a shelter. Don't breed.

Except that they don't have APBTs they have American Bullies.
To the OP. Do some research before trying to become a "breeder". We really don't need more mutts in the shelters.

I can register a turd as an apbt, doeant make it true. Georgia has some SUPERIOR private stock up in the mountains on down towards florida in the swamps.. However the first thing you need to do is proper research and proper guided hand aka mentor before you even begin to think aboit breeding.. It takes years, not over night to fully understand genetics history and what you are feeding down to a science, indiviual bloodlines and what they offer, line breeding, scatter, function, faults and pros to each line, each yard, structure, etc..

last time i checked, this was a public forum. and that means opinions are welcome. how about u be a lil nicer too. Ecko and KM are both perfectly right in the sense that since UKC and AKC do not recognize the American Bully, the papers wont say it. im guessing ur papers are from UKC, in which case then the breed is determined by the bloodlines. also want to point out that my wonderful PET came from the shelter and has a temperament that you speak of.
