How cold is too COLD ? To walk a pit
How cold is too cold to be walking a dog ? I walk my pitbull twice a day so she can get her exercise . It's
Been 35•degrees at night . She seems to be alright in the cold and not minding it . But is that too cold for her ? Should I put a jacket on her ? We walk for 20 min the most at night cause it's cold . She's 5 months , about 25 or 30 pounds I'm not sure ) l

yeah dogs with short coats need protection, anyone who says "well there is fur, they dont need protection" is just dumb, I don't care how much fur you have if your dog is used to being inside they get cold too. Dogs living outside would be able to adjust, but house dogs are just like us, they get cold. My boy will shiver when he is in the cold for a long time. Doesn't make him want to get out of the snow, lol just makes me want to take him out of the snow. Anything below 32 I put a sweater or sweatshirt on my boy if we are going outside for a long walk, longer than a potty break.
Also neighbors don't use Pet Safe deicer and neither does my city, like Angel said put some bag balm or something on her pads when the salting season starts...

I'm glad you said sweater or sweatshirt, I've had a hard time convincing my husband that our boy Moses needs one, he hates the cold, this is his first winter!

yeah I got a bunch of Kid size 5 sweatshirts for my pup. But I put him in them to save on baths when he plays with this ball, lol
My boy had a tumor removed, so he had to wear tshirts to protect his stitches from being scratched. It was either a tshirt, or a cone/sock (cone to prevent him for eating the sock I had to tape over his paw, lol.) I opted for a tshirts, so He is "doubled up" in this pic cause I didn't want his tumor tshit getting dirty, lol. But I still want him to play...

He is so handsome!! I love the ball,is it a actual dog toy or a regular ball?
Yea, I'm going to be shopping at some DAV's for him tomorrow, I'm not sure what size, he is getting broader in the chest, and growing into his head, Lol and is about 35 pounds, but because he is a mix and a rescue we have no idea how big or not he is going to get. He has his adult teeth, and the vet said he'd get wider, gain muscle but not bigger probably. We don't care, we just love him! But he is defiantly getting sweatshirts tomorrow! Lol

I say get her a coat or sweater or something, walk her. But if she seems to be panting more than normal, take the coat off.

I put Ecko in sweaters when it's wicked cold out. He's a Florida dog so he doesn't like the cold.

He also has a basic fleece that velcros so that he can't pee on it. I don't have a pic of that one at work though.
Heck, he lets me dress him up in whatever I want. LOL!
He's a size 4T.
And of course Chili REQUIRES a jacket to leave the house even in a light breeze.

I've been wanting to get Odin a hoodie for a while now, and I will get one soon! I just haven't decided what kind lol. But yeah I took him for a walk in the rain on Christmas day, he was shivering and trying to stay under my niece's umbrella lol.

Kg420 - Love the fur trimmed hood.
30F or thereabouts Veronica gets a coat and boots; and automatically gets boots if there is snow on the ground.
