We adopted our pup from a lady who let the dog sit in the front yard and praised him for barking at every person that walked by. Is there a way to undo this? he sits at the door and barks at everybody that walks by, and if he heres anybody walking he barks. We tried giving him a little smack (not hard!) to correct him when we see him do it. We tried a bark collar and it doesnt affect him (tried it on myself first lol). Is there anyway? please make him shut uppp! lol

let me also add, he knows what "bad dog" means, that is what we do for any other behavioral problem and he responds well to it. the barking issue just will not stop no matter what!

I use a spray bark collar. Uses a burst of citrus in their face when they bark. I have the automatic ones but you can buy the ones you control. After a couple sprays my one barker got the gist of it....and she smelled lemony fresh lol

Or you can try being out front with him and having people walk by and tell him 'No Bark' and give him a treat, keep him focused on you and give him rediculous praise when he doesn't bark, keep repeating until he gets it!
