Hello :) quick question for everyone !
Hi do you let your pitbull sleep with you at night ?
I let my Mila sleep with me at night , she's crate trained . I don't see anything wrong with it . Is this a good thing that I let her or can it led to a bad thing ?

Since my BF moved out I've been letting Odin sleep with me. I don't think it will lead to anything bad at all.... besides the fact he hogs the blankets. But my 2 rules are he's not to be under the covers (I don't want to have dog hair and nasty boy marks on my sheets) and he's not to be on the bed without me. I don't need him thinkin its his bed, I want him to know its mine and he's privledged to be on it.

My bf works late so that's why I let it , she never growls at me except when I move her to the side , she didn't show teeth . But thats my concern now . I think she didn't it because she was comfortable . Was that a bad thing or her doing that ? Or should she stay in her own cage for now on . She's 4 months

We let our dogs sleep on bed with us. But they know they get the bottom of the bed(until we fall asleep and Cain wiggles in) but they lay at our feet. I've never had an issue with it before.

Both of our dogs sleep with us. Yumi (2 years old) usually sleeps at our feet or ON our feet. Most often it's curled up behind one of ours knees when on our side. She knows "move" if we need to reposition her.
Reizo (12 weeks) usually sleeps up by my head, he is a huge snuggler and more often then not sleeps with his nose in my neck. Sometimes he goes down and snuggles with Yumi.
We have a really high bed, Yumi has no problem with it. Reizo just learned to jump off, but only does it sometimes (other times he sits there and whines like he has no idea how to do it). He cannot jump up, but that will be awhile yet. Our room is gated when we are in bed so if any of them DO get up, they can't wander the house. (although i have a 3 year old son, so i am a very light sleeper and wake up when either of them move)

They do. We haven't had any issues, we've had Reizo for 4 weeks (just realized he's 13 weeks today) and he has been in bed with us since day 1.
He snores haha, so i'm constantly moving his face out of my ear!
When my boyfriend works overnights (friday and saturday nights) she sleeps on his side with her head on the pillow

Yup mine too. My sons favorite show right now is American's funniest home videos. Always dogs and cats doing funny things on that and Yumi loves it

Yes her growling at you is a bad thing. Do not let her sleep with you. She needs to learn some manners first. I never had a dog growl at me but I would advice you to start NILF search the forum for it. She may be young now causing you to think the growling is cute but she won't be young forever. Her growling is disrespectful and you should not allow it. This is a serious matter and it's best to get it under control now.

I agree with sort of an exception...
I think it makes a huge difference if the dog is actually growling; vs. just being a vocal dog that grumbles. I guess if you're not sure you should err on the side of caution.
What the OP could also do; and I think should do is teach placement commands: on the bed, off the bed and move over; teach with positive reinforcement, make it a fun game, make sure the pup really learns the commands and that he gets lots of practice with them (make them second nature).
That said; for me, one of the main benefits and perks of having a dog is having a bed buddy.

I dont allow my dogs on my furniture, especially my bed. THey have a huge dog bed that is in our room that they sleep on together and a crate that stays open for them to go in and oyut of as they please. I heard once from a trainer that you souldn't let them on your furniture, they should lay beneth you (ie, on the floor vs. the couch). You are the leader, not the equal. Besides that I dont want all of my furniture furry smelling like dog ;0) Thats just me.

Dosia has a nice comfy spot in front of the fire but he likes to come in my room and sleep on the bed after aryan goes to work he leaves at 4:30-5:00 in the am so it's cold and time to cuddle lol @ Lauren I know what you mean with the yucky boy marks. That's why we always teach our dogs "spot" the have to understand the spot is not an actual place in the house, but a blanket that is theirs. That way if he's gunna be on the couch or bed he knows he can only be there if his blanket is there. It's worked so good, D won't jump on on the couch or chairs at all unless his blanket is up there
