Commands in different language?
I saw on a post-I believe it was an older one- that someone trains their dog in Finnish. And I thought that was so neat and was looking at different languages myself but was wondering if there were sites or books that were used to see English word along with the translation. Cain knows hand signals and the words but I thought it would be fun to try with him.

I lived in Germany for 5 years while my dad was in the AF. I picked it up easily, forgot most, but can still pronounce words fairly easily. It's in my heritage too.
Ecko is bi-lingual. LOL!
It's helping me to teach him not to eat anything that I don't give to him because he has to have the release in German. It's all just something I'm toying with for now to get comfortable and learn with. I know that a lot of protection sport dogs are trained in other languages, but I don't know anyone specificly that uses them.

That is very cool! I have friends that live in Germany and they always teach me random stuff to say (I know how to say "I'm a crazy unicorn" in German haha)
But I thought teaching Cain in a different language would be fun for both since he loves learning and I could learn new things too. And so he doesn't just listen to any random person

My elder-bully Rexxoit responds to all commands in French thanks to my father-in-law who was in the US on holiday when he was a pup. It's so awesome. People often ask me how'd he learn that...but the best is when they just stare in awe...I will reply, "He's bi-lingual". Lol.
It's quite easy to teach too, google your commands and show them what they mean.

I started the German for shake and he's picked up on it very fast! Our older dog is confused by it(tried with her too) and doesn't really understand yet but hopefully they both will get it.

I give most my commands in German but's that's because I do Schuzthund with my dogs. This website has a more complete list of commands in several languages. Scroll down a bit and after the hand signals there is the list

I only spoke to my dog Diablo in Spanish. So then other people would tell him something and he totally ignored it. I thought it was pretty neat.
