Spring pole police question

Okay, we are getting ready to start making a spring pole and flirt pole for our Pitt pup, Moses. Has anyone ever run into the problem of someone claiming you are training your dog as a fight dog when using these and how did you address this? Here a lot of times spring poles are associated with fighting. While I know this is stupid, what is the best way of addressing the issue if it comes up?

No.. they are bulldogs.. APBT, SBT, AST, all genetically the same the difference are the strains that are bred for work and for show.. both need the same source of excercise just differentiating only by degree...

You have catch dogs.. or dogs of prey.. they need to run and they need to catch.. by nature .. thus fetch.. The flirt pole is used for excercise, agility, and to satisfy prey drive .. (feeling of chase catch and accomplishment) ..

The only time you have fighting dog pariphnalia is when you are dogfighting, and thus have had a witness say as such including gambling.. Just because you have bulldogs and you have the tools to excercise them doesnt mean your prepping for a dog fight, it just means SIMPLY: these dogs require a different degree of toy and excercise .. You can compare Alaskan sled dogs to AKC huskies.. not the same.. and a genuine sled dog is going to get into the same kind of trouble an APBT is and the ACO or neighbors will call it a wolf hybrid.. LOL or GSD mix.. Back to ACO PD SD and your bulldog..

Never use the word Pit bull always use bulldog and when you can being in kansas trail and hunt coyotes .. first urban yotes then around the outskirts of the city limits as your dog developes and so do you.. Mention this is why your working your dogs prey drive and explain the dog knows when to excercise this drive and ability and when not too when and ONLY when YOUR excercise your dog properly with the proper tools....

Hope this helps..

We've had our spring pole for a few years and never had an issue. The people who've seen our dogs use it have actually found it pretty amusing. I know that doesn't help address the what ifs, just my personal experience. We are lucky to live on a corner lot with no neighbors on the dog yard side and a privacy fence on top of a retaining wall so no one can really see in unless they are trying hard to.

A friend of mine had the cops called because they let his dog hang from a tire in the front yard but they just came and checked it out, saw it was a dog having fun and were fine. My springpole is behind a fence and we've never had an issue.

Spring pole police question

Thanks everyone. We do have a privacy fence but the neighbor behind us can has a two story. They've been known to complain about our "vicious" dogs before and that was before our Moses! They have three little yappy terrors, lol.

Pssshh, I'd like someone to call the police on my girl having a blast on her spring pole. I'd look straight at the cops and ask them if it looked like I am training my dog to fight. First off... what the hell does a rope in a tree have to do with fighting? How the hell do they make that association? Inanimate object... another dog... yeah sure, they're similar enough. No wait... no they're not.

My spring pole is in my front yard in full view of everyone. Honestly I think she scares the poop out of anyone who sees her playing on it... which I don't mind. Will keep y'all hoodlems away from my house lol.

Lol I agree. When we get ours made it will be in the front yard. 90 percent of our trees are and I use the flirt pole in the front too. If someone wants to say something about it they can. My dog will be having fun and exercising. Nothing more.
