Hey Dog-E-- If your pup is showing signs of DA, it may never go away. IMHO, work around it. Find the best things you can do together but doesn't necessisarily involve other dogs.
(Just a suggestion here) Weight pulling is a good thing. It involves you and the dog training together, it bonds the 2 of you, gives him a job and keeps you social at the pulls. It also wears him out.
We have to contend with DA in our house (we have multiples) so I for one feels your pain. Good luck and don't be disappointed for too long. Even my DA dogs still pay us back in spades. Now that they understand their roles in the house.

Thanks everyone for all your input, I really appreciate it! except for patron--> i dont really see what ur getting at.

I now know that I should start having him weight pull so that can make him a bit more tired than anything else that I do. Any ideas on what age is appropriate to begin?

Also, it seems as though whenever he sees any dog approaching him he acts aggressive, so just wondering if you all thought that his dog aggression will never go away? I mean, when and how can one tell if their dog will always be dog aggressive? It seems like he will always be like this, but I can never know for sure until I keep trying to introduce him to dogs...correct? Or do you all think I should just come to terms with him not being dog friendly and just stop trying to introduce him to other dogs?

thanks so much!!

Why don't you seek a professional in your area for help. If you are really unsure about introducing him to another dog, than have a professional there to show you the proper way to do it.
Weight pulling will be great for him to exercise, but it will also help him socialize with other dogs. By that I mean if you go to shows than just being around dogs without actually meeting them will be a great experience for him. All the dogs will most likely be focused on the tournament and (although it is an intense environment) no one will really be focused on eachother. these dogs will be his teachers in what to do around dogs (ignore...for now).

Also, weightpulling is great, but it is sort of an explosive sport. you also want him to practice being patient and gentle. The dogs concentrate and focus in weightpulling but the patients and gentleness have to be accomplished in other areas. So we have to give our dogs all the skills: exercise, relaxation, concentration, etc. and different things accomplish different mindstates

Oh and thanks again to Sadiesblue and Reddogy.
