Peeing in kennel help!!

Okay, so our 6 month old rescue has started a new behavior. He is peeing in his kennel. Not while he is in it, but he will purposely go into his kennel and pee when he is out and about. He isn't potty trained yet, and we feed him in his kennel as well as kenneling him while we are gone and no problems while crated. The only thing I can think is that my old lab will occasionally go in and lay down. I always correct her, and she has her own bed. Today we caught him in process. This isn't something I've encountered before, any suggestions ease! Name: ImageUploadedByPG Free1355686571.942534.jpg

We will try that. I wondered if it would be because it was my son's dog kennel. We kept it for travel reasons but I've washed it out. It is the right size but should we get him his own? He is fixed already.

My pups would pee in their cages. I thought it was just because they were throwing a tantrum about not being able to run around and play. I haven't had the problem after I made one of them sit in his stench. I put a towel in there to soak it up, but I didn't clean it out so that he would know not to do it again. I, of course, cleaned it out the next day, but, like I said, it hasn't happened since.
