Thumbs down Biting

Hello everyone;

I recently just got a blue nose pitbull puppy. He is only 10 weeks old. When we first got him
he was biting but not letting go. We thought it was teething. He is currently registered at petsmart for training. But the three weeks we have had him he has gotten worse. He now bites harder when told no. & we tried everything from telling him no & igorning him. Tapping his nose & but. Saying ouch loudly. & a spray bottle. He has plently of toys. But nothing works. He even growls. I don't know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem?

yes, I bet we have all had this problem... I would put a ball in my pups mouht, he only bit when he was excited when i would come home so I could give him the ball and he could run around all happy chomping on the ball.

First off go get your money back from petsmart!! They are not real trainers no matter what they tell you! If you need suggestions to find a good trainer give me your city, state and zip and I'll find one for you.

Next when he bites say NO and scruff his little butt! Grab his scruff and he might freak out and scream and try to bite..... just hold him till he stops and gives in. You need to grab him behind the neck so he can't bite you. You need to make a correction that stops the behavior he sounds like a typical stubborn pup get after him. As soon as he stops and gives in praise him. Try putting toys in his mouth and redirecting him to play tug. You have to correct the biting though redirecting him alone will not stop the biting. He just needs a clear come to Jesus moment that you are in charge and do not tolerate tooth to skin contact.

Tonight he get kept biting my Grandmothers leg & we did grab him by the back of the neck. He didn't like it at all & then will come down. Thank you so much. Because my Little cousin is here too & I would be devastated if he bit him & I had to get rid of him. I was bit by a pit 2 years ago. He caught my ear. & almost my eye. But it doesn't change how I feel about the breed. I love pits. It's just ashame the name they get.

Scuff his little butt and hold him till he calms down and stops trying to get away. That's more of a dominance thing and will help teach the pup it's place.
