Sleepy crazies...
Tika is 17 weeks old today. She is like a child in their "terrible 3's". Lol She's getting better with training, but my question is this: has anyone experienced their Pitty getting "overly excited" or "overly energized", and literally going nuts for about 10 minutes before she just crashes......falls asleep. And she does this EVERY TIME she is sleepy....just like a child, and I say that because our grand baby is the same way. ;-)

I noticed that with our current dog when she was a puppy.
I used to joke that she was "getting fussy and needed to go down for a nap".
She not only got more energized, but her inner brat would come out and she would be a great big annoying puppy and right in the middle of it, "zzzzzz" out cold.

Lol yes! Mine does exactly that right before bed. She spins donuts and tries to jooke me! I notice it right before bed or right after I get up and put her collar on her in the morning. It is seriously too funny! Mine is 16 weeks tomorrow.

That's exactly what she does, inner brat and all!! It's funny at times, but it's also aggravating when you're ready for bed too. lol

So what you're basically saying is that she most likely "won't" grow out of it?

I am SOOOO glad we're not the only ones with a crazy pup. lol (jk)
It gets real funny when she does it, and she gets the hiccups (which is a LOT right now) right in the middle if it. It freaks her out. My grandmother used to say that when babies get the hiccups, it means they're growing, and I DO believe that with her. She's now at 30lbs, and it's not fat. :-)

Lol yea. My husband always stays up later than me on weekends and I let Cain lay in bed with me and that's when he is most hyper. After 10-15 minutes he crashes haha.

It's called a "Zoomie"
Luna does one almost every night before bed. It is their way of releasing/expending extra energy before sleeping. Quite interesting and quite hilarious
Google Zoomie...it's a well known common term

It wasn't a zoomie with Veronica. She would get really mouthy and barky and jump on you. She wanted you to play with her but she was just...rude and fresh! LOL!

My 6 month old female does the same thing...I consider it part of the zoomie...not super mouthy but will jump up, sprint, barrel me over lol...really, I'd rather her do that once a night right before bed then act like that 24/7. When I think she's expended enough energy a good technique that works is to redirect her...I grab an antler or the almighty bully stick. The challenge is catching her/stopping her crazy galloping around enough to show her her treat!
