"Free command" ???

Anyone know how to teach the "free" command? or relax command?

Most people use it as a release command. Example if you release them from a stay instead of saying "ok" you can say "free".

i actually dont say okay or free after he sits i just say yes, treat, next command.




found out something my dog loves to do, i stuff his kong full of trreats, i crush the vegetation around, i throw him inside, i hide his kong, he RUNS OUTSIDE WITH HIS NOSE ON THE GROUND IN THE AIR AND IS JUST RUNNING TO FIND HIS KONG. the first time i did this he kinda went wild looking for it the first time, i'l try to post vid. =)

So yes is his release command? that is fine just make sure you always let him break a stay or what ever command you give with yes.
The reason you give a release command is to let them know the exercise is over. I use yes kind if like a clicker, it means they did something I like so I mark the behavior with a yes. But if I say "stay" I expect them to stay until I release them with OK.
