What is to early

I've been trying to read threw threads and see what or when is to early to weight pull?I have a male pup 6mths as of today and got a BDD harness well fit and ready to go,but I wanna make sure I'm not starting to soon.I do know start out with light weights and or milk jugs with like rocks in them let him get use to not just the harness but also a work command and pulling.I would love any feedback or links that I have missed please and thank you.

I definitely wouldn't put any weight behind him yet.. you can let him get used to the harness.. but if its a good fit you'll probably be ordering him another one by the time hes old enough to compete

I'd totally agree with Jessie, he's pretty young to be putting weight behind him but IMO he's old enough for milk jugs and setting the foundation for pulling later on.

Thank you yea I'm thinking the samething about the harness it fitted a 2yr old 40lb dog heck it's dang near brand new and was cheap so if have to by the time he gets into competition I'll get another one

Yea you'll definitely need another one, he'll grow out of the one you have now if he's still a pup. I got mine from Tablerock, they are awesome and very easy to do business with. They also make training harnesses that are adjustable so you wouldn't have to worry about growing out of it

6 months is the age I usually start my dogs off with light weight. This is also a good time to get him used to a small harness, just to get the feel of it. Make sure it is a weight pull harness and not a regular harness. Here is a good article on pit bull weight pulling. It pretty much covers what you need.

I got a good weight pull harness and I was just wanting to know a good age I had startttraining before woth a 9month old but O don't have any more just wated to see what would be a good age and I know not to do more than 10lbs or less til about a yr
