you about rite with the angle. you can always add something to the rear to decrease it. one thing tho. carpets are hard to pull! they supposed to be! use a good harness not a collar! and keep it to a minimum, ez into it. if the mill is rite the dog shouldn't be on it but about 5 minutes at a time. walk him before to let him dump and after to cool down. there is a reason race horses don't come to a dead stop after a race! hahaha.
