In my experience, most people seriously over feed their dog at this stage, hoping to help them 'fill out' At one year, the growth of the dog slows dramatically, they aren't growing 'up' anymore. As the dog matures, changes occur , but these are subtle and everyone is always in such a hurry that they often continue to feed in the same manner of a puppy or even up food allowance to 'bulk them up'. The task you have is to watch the ratio between between muscle and plain 'bulk' (read fat) and allow your dog to mature to his or her potential without letting him/her get fat. Most dogs are fat, plain and simple.
