e-mail them or call, they can tell you when the next classes are for beg so you can set up. here they allow you to pay to practice at their dock. and Members get free access with the ther club members. Not sure about Cali tho.

If you want your dog to focus more on you - hand feed the meals (hopefully you're giving dry food...lol) while practicing/reinforcing your OB.
Seriously. You need to make yourself the BEST-EST thing in the world. Better than other dogs, other people, new smells, sounds, UFO's. Everything and anything. If you are the only source of food & fun - trust me, you will have complete focus on you.
Your dog doesnt have to eat it's meals in one sitting - so you can break it up throughout the day. Or if you work - hand feed the night feeding.
Again, you need to be the source of food & fun. Then you will have focus.

Someone I know trains all her puppies this way. She has the most awesome working dogs ever!

Also, find a high value treat/toy and only use that for training. Nothing else.

My dog is focused on me, lol! she just needs distraction work which now I am not worried about since I will be taking a prep agility class to help with that.

You do know hand feeding a dog can lead to issues (picky eatters) and IMO You cant get what you want out of a dog if the dog is eating from your hand indoors, even out doors the dog wont be as motivated with kibble bits as it would with hotdogs or cheese on an empty belly.. it doesnt teach them anything imo.. unless you have a FA dog.
I never train with meal time. that time is that time and training time is training time.

I found that if you take your dog to different places and just work basic obed. stuff with them it helps with distraction later on in classes. I atek all of my guys to parking lots and parks and where ever there is room for us to move around and not have to worry about being hit by a car and we work on and off leash. My dogs are so focused on me that at the last class I was at Vendetta didn't realize that three dogs were standing behind her that is focused.

I LOVE dock diving and wish they had clubs close to me, We have a competition coming this fall and I hope I can go and finish Siren, Vixen, and Tempest's titles. We live in the desert and have no water! lol
I do certain things around meal times and it depends on what I am teaching. If I am really working heeling then the whole meal in kibble comes from heeling. Same thing with other exercises but generally I do all the work before I feed. I never train after I feed I always train on an empty stomach. If I am training a certain dog that day they do not get breakfast but they earn their dinner.

I will put some tunnel exercises together because it is very important to have tunnel drive and be able to send them to tunnels and you have to really teach that. Don't over board with weaves at all, really you can hurt your dog. Weaves are hard on the spine and pasterns and the link I posted on teaching weaves is all you need till you get more advanced.
I REALLY suggest you get an online subscription to Clean Run magazine and check out this site. They have the best ideas and articles and I really recommend them. i think the online subscription is only $20 and you can print off the exercises you like and keep them in a file, that is what I do.

Go check out cleanrun.com
