And if they truely did the stand up job you claim they do then you wouldn't refer to them as a byb.
Do you have any peds or pics of these dogs you are talking about?I'm very curious to take a peek.

What do you think byb is?It's any kind of breeding that should not be done.It doesn't matter how much they love their dogs or not.If they are not doing things like some kind of sport or work with their dogs and exceling at it or heck even showing them then they don't need to be bred. What is the purpose of taking 2 pet quality dogs and breeding them together? Not a darn thing besides making more pet quality dogs.If someone wants a pet,go to a shelter.
BYB is the problem because you have all these yahoos thinking they have pretty dogs that would make pretty puppies that they could then sell. They do not care about temperment or anything else.So what happens when you have all these dogs being bred for nothing? You need to find homes for them. And sometimes you may go with a home that may be less than suitable just to get rid of it.Well then they are not properly caring for the dog and then they probably decide to then breed it to make money. Then the cycle goes on and on.If byb was not a huge part of our breeds problem then there wouldn't be so many of them in shelters.
I could go on and on but I don't think it's even worth it.And frankly I don't feel like arguing with you.And blaming the liberals is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And I'm a republican.
Your kidding right? If your not doing some kind of sport or work and even showing your dog, thats what you justify as given you the right to be a breeder and everybody else be damned! Well, first off I completely disagree with show dogs, just look at the American Staffordshire Terrier! Thats what the AKC and breeders can do for you! The old pit men who bred these dogs would be ashamed! The pit men bred for one thing and one thing ONLY! QUALITY! And just cause a dog can out pull another dog means nothing! And just cause you work your dog? Your gonna have to explain that one for me. Maybe I'm wrong, but you strike me as someone who would have been completely against the OFR's because they did't meet some standard. And the UKC original standard said any eye color was acceptable. Now blue eyes or not. Think GOD we dont look at humans the same way! And for being stupid, unless you have your head in the sand you would be well aware that it is a liberal agenda to push BSL. (Republicans or not any better neither). And for the lady who said theres no way in H_ll she'd give up her dog, I highly agree with you on that! That why I do my best to keep up on whats going on with BSL. Its springing up everywhere and has been known to be passed without the citizens knowing of it. Thats what scares me the most! But I am glad that my comments have struck up some interest. I am very interested in knowing what people think. But telling me only people who show or compete with their dogs should be the only ones allowed to breed their dogs bothers me alot. But I am glad that the people who are interested in the American Pit Bull Terrier seem to be very proud owners and will defend the PETS till the end!!!

The main point was that I adopted Loki from a shelter, he was probably from a byb and with an owner that's not as stubborn or dedicated as I am, he would have most likely ended up back at a shelter. It would be really great if every person who decided to get a pit bull was ready for the time and training that goes into raising them, but they just don't.

For someone who thinks that pit bulls are so misunderstood and is so against BSL, you should consider that the more byb that's going on, that equals more dogs, period. Which leads to more dogs going to misinformed, inexperienced owners, (most of these owners aren't going to be the ones getting puppies from a reputable breeder) which leads to more dogs with the wrong temperaments and training, and ending up in shelters. It's inevitable.

p.s. I don't breed but in my own opinion, I am really impressed by the dogs and their owners that do any kind of competition. It takes a really good dog with the right energy and focus to be able to handle themselves around that many people and other dogs, and while being in the spotlight. They also clearly have a good amount of drive, incredible training, and are all around good looking dogs. I mean if you had to choose, wouldn't you want your puppy coming from dogs and owners like that??

That's what I was eventually trying to say.I get so worked up that a million things start trying to come out at once.lol

I'm assuming your byb friends you keep refering to have some nice game dogs back in their ped that they are trying to preserve. But IMO if they are not being bred and being shipped elsewhere in the world to do what they were meant to do then byb should not be breeding them. There are plenty of kennels that are still around working that blood that not every jerkoff who has one needs to be breeding it.
It was said right above me.The more breeding going on the more dogs falling into the wrong hands. And you said yourself that these are the kind of people giving our dogs a bad name.

WELL WRITTEN Smith Family!

May I also say:
If you need to know these things...DON'T breed your dog!!
This is such a small part of the knowledge you actually need before breeding.
