group dogsbite.org has arranged a meeting in St Paul with the St. Paul City Council for August 9th, 2012. (despite the fact that state law does not allow BSL
- perhaps they will try the "home rule" card.) They have mailed dog bite propaganda in the form of postcards to residents, and the postcards ask why BSL
has not been enacted in St. Paul. We MUST oppose this. Anyone of our members in St. Paul able to give us a report?
Here is what they are sending people in the mail to garner support. We need to get the word out about this so it doesn't slip through.

If you are opposed to BSL
, please come to the meeting for strength in numbers, ESPECIALLY if you are a St. Paul resident. We have chosen one person to speak for the group who is a St. Paul resident and our points will be logical and respectful, based on research by the CDC and the AVMA. We also want to reduce dog bites and have stricter penalties for irresponsible owners, and we agree with the evidence that BSL
is not an effective method to do so.
Please DO NOT bring your dogs, protest the meeting, or be disrespectful to the family or the council. The people at dogsbite.org love portraying pit bull owners as crazy so we would like to avoid playing into that stereotype as it only damages our case.
Meeting location: Historic Streetcar Station, 1224 Lexington Parkway N, St Paul MN.
