fetch?

how good of a workout does hours of fetch give?

Peanut is literally OBSESSED with fetch. I mean the word "ball" gets him hyper and hes wanting to go out all the time if i take him to pee he is expecting to play ball he looks for the "outside ball" brings it and is ready to go..i have to make him stop he never is done with the game.

anyways what areas does fetch work on?

also i didnt think fetch was really something that this breed was into?

Great topic. Jameson is a total punk about fetch. If we're alone in the county park he will not chase or fetch anything I throw usually, however, when we're at the dog park, he'll run like a maniac to fetch sticks, but he only gives them back about 20% of the time. The rest of the time I just grab a new stick and throw it and he'll run hard to get it and then show it to the other dogs and growl. From the standpoint of exercise, I think it's gotta be right up there... the dog is constantly running hard for the duration of the exercise. From a training standpoint, I'm sure I'm doing everything wrong, but I like it when my dog is tired.

I'm sure that Julie K would be able to offer a lot of insight on this question.

all Peanut wants to do is play fetch for hours. even if he is asleep and you say ball he will jump and go towards the door

This is funny my old dog use to do this. Once i was playing fetch with him at the park and a old man came up to me and said nice lab you got there (considering he was black) then when my dog came back to me the old man said DAM thats a PITBULL. I started laughing.
