I just got done working out 5 dogs of the flirt pole (one by one of course) and I love the workout it gives the dogs and muscle definition. Also a drag sled or hand walking (where the dog is pulling against a good 2" collar). Those both can build up muscles tone. remember you are limited by genetics.
Also check out the conditioning forum for more ideas and threads about this. This thread will also be moved there.

if your just starting out i would just do a session of about 5 minutes and then put it up. always leave your dog wanting more. be careful not to burn your dog out the first couple times you use it, so like the first 3 times just do 5 min, then 10 min and just build time from there.

I usually do it until I can tell he is getting tired. Usually about 15 mins, maybe a little longer if he didnt go for a run that day. He would probably keep after it until he passed out if I let him.

Okay, Newbie here!

I never did exercise my first APBT, I just took her on runs and what not. But now that I have alot more room I want to get my puppy into some different things and really work her.

So first question would be how do you train for leash pulling but keep them from pulling when you walk them? (website of instructions would be great)

as for flirt pole: isn't that a pole that has a hefty knotted rope that they hang from? Again, sorry if I'm asking something that everyone but me knows.

Thanks guys!
James
