I'd say more frequent hand walking would be great!

I'm with more walking too. He looks great! Walking will slim him down so you can see that tone thats already there. Doing more things like playin in the yard or tug o war will help bunches too. Toning your dog up doesn't have to be techinical or hard just every day play and attention

ok swimming is out! yeah..my dog hates the pool don't know why..lol. thanks for all the suggestions, i'm gonna go with more hand walking i think we both need it. oh and he does do the spring pole but he kinda gets bored with it and ignores it, have not tried any wagon pulling but looking forward to trying that, he loves frezbee's and his ball so i'll do more of that. what are some better foods?

blackb3lt is an unknown quantity at this point
How old is he? Be careful not to put any weight on him until he's about 2 years old. Puppy food has more protein and fats in it, you might want to mix that with some of his food.

You will be limited by genetics but hand walking and activities like the flirt pole can really help.

You may want to try something different on the springpole, and even try flirt pole because it involves you more than the springpole, building confidence and shedding excess body weight..

Depending on his age you can go jogging, also if he didnt like the pool the first time try and bring in something he'd love to get his mouth on and get in the pool and act like youre having a blast without him..

i walk chino for at least an hour 6 days a week, and he gets light drag sled training, flirtpole, tug (since we dont have a springpole set up yet) and his food is pretty steady, unless i add or subtract a little depending on his activity level.

Playing fetch with your dog can really build up some nice muscle. It helps if you have a slope where you can throw the ball down it and he has to run back up it. Also you can ste up some jumps and mix it up a little.

The trail I take Chino on is constant uphill downhill, so its a GREAT exercise for different parts of the muscles!
