Springpole bait

I have tried cowhide and rope. Rambeaux loves the cowhide but only when its off the pole. When I put it back up he is uninterested. Am I doing anything wrong or do I need to find a better bait? Any tips would be extremely helpful. Thanks gang!

me too

I'll be looking forward to this answer too. My problem is how to securely attach the bait to the rope as well as how to keep from being the backboard the "kids" spring off!

I always put a tug rope on my spring pole. I would get him into playing tug of war and then put it up and he'd go crazy. Maybe try lowering the spring pole so that all four feet are on the ground and then as he gets more and more into it raise it up little by little. Hope that can help keep us updated on how he's doing with it

Ive come to realize that he is not interested in his springpole. We can play tug of war for hours with a rope. As soon as I put it on the springpole he totally ignores it. Same with the cowhide, he absolutely loves that stuff! he will chew them all day if I let him. But as soon as I put it on the springpole he will not touch it! Its so low on the springpole it literally touches his face! I think he is happier without the springpole so thats what it will be. Thanks again guys

Maybe try putting it on the spring pole and still hold it like your playing with him and then after he gets in to it let go.

Does anyone use a semi deflated basketball or soccer ball for the toy on the springpole?
If so can you give me ideas on how to attach it to the hook? Reason im changing from rope is, sweetpea had almost 2 feet of chewed rope in his stomach half of which was hanging out of his rectum...ouch
thanks

I can't even get Thor on a springpole, he hates coming off his feet. Diesel on the other hand tries to get it, but ends up doing a backflip, any idea on how I can get Thor to get on the springpole? :S
