My dog Max has started to this. Now on the video you can hear him make sounds while biting/hanging. Is this normal?

Kangol loves the spring pole. It is great exercise and like Lindsay said it is like tug-o-war without your arms hurting.

And it makes for a very tired baby dog afterward!

a couple things to keep in mind are always have it low enough where the dog can have both back feet on the ground and also have the spring high enough so the dog does not jump for the rope and break its teeth accidentally biting the spring.

Growling is not always a sign of aggression. Barking, growling and whining are the only ways dogs can say OMG this is awesome! Or Mom I got it I got it!.

Although the above posts were all great, they left out a very critical aspect of the spring pole. If you see somebody with the dog hanging off the ground, they are laughed at by those who train their pit bulls to be in great shape. Not only does it do a great amount of damage to the dogs neck and joints, but the dog is getting nowhere near the workout he would get if you only allow his back legs to touch the ground. You want your dog to play tug of war with whatever you chose to use and have to pull and tear at the item and use his whole body. Although it looks cool to see a dog hang, it is the sure sign of a rookie. And btw, it does nothing to make a dog more human aggressive lol, hes smart enough to tell the difference between a rope and human

I'm totally on board with the spring pole.

I made one for our puppy, she started using it a 8 months and she can't get enough. We limit her to about 5-8 minutes, twice a day. She makes the greatest whining, grunting noises.

When she's going crazy on it, our 4 year old lab pit mix just chills on the ground soaking up the sun.
