Purpose of Springpole

I've been reading some exercises for pitbull and I came across weight pulling and springpole. This may have been posted before, but what is the purpose of springpole exercise? Has there been evidence that makes the pit agressive or becomes agressive to attack humans?

the spring pole is a full body work out and is a really fun easy way to exercise your dog. I have not seen anything that would suggest that it makes the dogs aggressive against humans. I can play with my dogs while they are playing with the spring-pole. When i want them to let go I grab the rope and put my hand on there muzzle and say drop it and they stop till I say get it again. I really have not seen any signs of aggression toward anything except the rope they are pulling on and thats just play with a wagging tail. I like it my dogs like it. good fun is all imo

The spring pole was the best thing to ever happen to our yard! It's a great workout for your dog and promotes good muscle tone.

Here's some pics of Loki on his:

Springpole is no different than tug-of-war, except that your arms hurt a lot less in the long run.

LOL I don't think mine has any "spring pole" drive. We sort of tried it today and he had no interest at all. He does have a huge interest in grabbing anything that turns like wheels on a little red radio flyer wagon. It drives me nuts when I'm pulling it. He growls and latches on to the wheel and yanks the wagon sideways. Or if you drag anything behind you like a shovel. Ok, so he's weird....

That was the video I've seen on youtube and they are growling, that's when I thought of my question about aggression. At what age would be a good time to start my dog with springpole exercise?

You can start your dog on spring pole pretty young but you want to make sure they can touch the ground with their back feet to avoid any injuries.
It is a great work out tool and it doesn't make them aggressive at all. I stand right next to my boy when he's on it and pet him and he's never showed aggression at all. He will let go right away when he hears "drop" also.

There not growling out of aggression they are just having fun. you can see they even practically do back flips to avoid accidentally biting each other, think of when you play tug of war with you pup most of them will growl it all fun and games just make sure you teach them a good release command so that you can end whatever play on YOUR terms

Yeah, it's still risky. We used to let Loki and Brutus play on ours together but it reached a point where things got too tenuous and we stopped doing it just to avoid starting a scuffle.

I have an old video somewhere of them tugging on it together in the snow - awesome video and lots of growling and whatnot but all in good fun.
