i wish i could get blondie to pull me* on a board..
she walks few steps and stops like, ("...i dont trust that thing behind me..")
i haven't really tried to get her too get used to it, just gave it a go like twice and she wasn't having it.

Try just having her stay next to you instead of pulling. Once she gets used to the noise and having something that close she'll probably try pulling. Just take it easy and get her used to it, I'm sure she'll warm up

I have never been on a skateboard in my life and I am far to old to start now, but I do mountain bike with Preacher he wears a skijoring harness and most of our routes are dirt farm roads I try to avoid him pulling me (as long as I can keep up with him anyway) as we have WP harneses and drag sleds for that. The only real issue I would have with skateboarding is that it requires that you are on pavement and Preacher would just tear his pads up every time

We don't really have to much trouble with the pavement over here. The roads around my neighborhood are actually pretty nice. You can get those little booties for them too

nismo didt pull the first few times. it just takes time for them to get used to the noice, and get the idea of what you want them to do. Nismo had trouble partly cause of the sound and he was used to getting into trouble if he had any tension on the leash.
we havent dont it in a couple months. my month old and the new pup wear me out :P
but to get your dog used to it just take them on a run on the skateboard. without them pulling, eventually when your dog gets used to it, he'll lead out in front. hold on

Well I think I will have to stop skating Whit

The last few times I have taken him, after his run I noticed bad scrapes on his pads on his rear paws. My boy just takes off with so much torque and power, that he must scrape them. He didn't hurt them at the same time, thank god, but I noticed him walking with a limp and not using a rear leg. That's when I saw the scrapes

I'm kind of bummed because its one of the only times where he can run as fast as he can for as long as he can. But I would only do about 2-3 miles max. It was super good cardio for him, but I don't think I would risk him hurting his pads again because that means a whole week of exercise is down the drain.

My advice would be to get some good speed going before you fully let your dog take off or teach them to start off slow and build up speed. My boy just goes hard the entire time, he's got some good lungs haha

Aww poor Whit You know I always do this, my momma told me to do this with my pit I had in high school and I've been doing it ever since. After you bring him in from work, or a run, wipe down his feet and rub the pads with bag balm. Any scrapes or nicks will heal up quick. I was always told to do it even if the pads look fine, so it keeps them healed and strong. I do it now just out of habit but I've never really had any problems with D on the cement.

i used to skate with all three of the dogs i had at the time, one problem i had was my saint Bernard would get going a little to fast. id say get a longer leash and let your dog be away from the board for starters once they get used to it get a shorter leash also just having her/him run along side of you rather than pulling you.
