Honestly, I saw those before, and I don't like the metal hardware. I set up my springpole so the tug hangs from rope only, with all metal bits at least a foot above. Metal anywhere near the end of a springpole or flirtpole is a recipe for busted teeth. I think you have a good idea and if one of those would hold up for, say, 6 months, it already is a better buy for me than cowhide. (Although if I bought one and my dogs wouldn't play with it, I'd probably use it to beat them. LOL! J/K) I think if you can either wrap the metal or come up with an alternative, it would be safer.
