Ways to condition and diet???

My boy blaze as a puppy I don't have papers so I'm going to say he's pit mix but a great dog very lovable and great with cats and dogs anything else is fair game for him and he is very persistent with any kind of playing you do from fetch to tug of war I'm looking to build spring pole when I move into new house for him and my other puppy he is now about 2 1/2 yrs very playful I just don't have the room for him to run free interested in ways to condition him he's definantly on the chubby side and not any muscle structure but very strong just want to make sure he is healthy as possible feeding diamond dog food for most of his life but now at a crossroad on what is the better way because I'm feeding taste of wild to puppy any suggestions on all aspects of conditioning and diet are appreciated!!

When I first got him^^^^

Often with larger breed dogs(or those with more muscle mass or those breeds with propensity to put on unwanted weight) you will want to switch from puppy to adult food sooner than the one year mark recomended on the bag.
This will of course depend on your dogs activity level or any health concerns.
Besides Diamond's record of recalls, the ingredients are not too bad.
The best advise i can give is to talk to your vet, hoping he/she does not feed into the "kickbacks" some food companies give (sell our food and we'll give you such and such) we had one that tried to sell us on a complete garbage kibble.
Ask what protien level, fat level etc... they recomend for your dog as well as the feeding schedule they would like to see you at. my dogs love to gain weight when we do once a day feedings compared to the same amount split between two feedings a day.
And always remember if your dog is a healthy weight while lying on the couch for days but you spend a weekend hiking with them, you will need to up thier amount of food for that time, just as you did for yourself.
Look for a good food, maybe up your exercise routine, look at a different feeding schedule, ask your veterinarian if you have any serious health questions.

What is your budget for food? I fed diamond for awhile and with all the recalls i just couldn't, so we now sac a little of our going out to eat money so I can feed my dog Acana. (I also saw you have several dogs) There are several decent kibbles out there that are "budget friendly" now something to consider with higher quality kibbles, diamond bags recommended that I feed my dog about 3 1/4 cups of food in one day, acana little over 2 cups.

If whatever kibble u decide, if he looks like he getting fat, just cut it back a little, do less treats, no table scraps...

Build a flirt pole, swimming, heavy hand walking, running, spring pole, fetch, tug o war, anything you can do to make the dog move will to some degree exercise him.
