Thanx Mccoy.. I love taking pictures!

And FH.. Fats really? I was trying to avoid fats.. From my Raw feeding exp so far fats stay with them longer.. I guess that's not a bad thing then? I've heard you should be empty for workouts so I fed what I thought she'd burn up quickly.. Over stressing am I? For the gang I feed everyother day usually... occassionally I'll skip two days and even less often I'll feed two days in a row. If I feed red meats and no fat to dog he's sucked usually sucked up again in his flanks with 24hrs.. vs dogs who ate alot of fat that feeding that aren't sucked up until after atleast 48hrs. Even still they'll rarely eat two days in a row.. But I feed a lot on the days I do feed. Some gorge it down others bury half.. and some like to let it sit out in the sun and ripen.. Since I started her workouts.. I've been feeding KU daily but mostly red meat and bone/cartiledge. I guess I've been doing it wrong.. She won't touch rice, or greens. She'll eat grass tops in a.m. when I let her out to pee and such. I guess she likes morning grass tops because of the dew.. Usually these come out the other end.

And No processed foods here. I get em straight from the Packing house. I don't have much access to chicken though unless I buy it.

Chicken not really important if you have the upfront butcher like that. So the fats are important so your dog isn't "stale" ... which means they look like a dog of steel but they act like a couch dog out of the blue with no gumption. .. from not having enough fats. make it a day so you know what day a week you include fats and thus a balanced diet. Fats burn longer and theres protiens, and amino acids in the fats not in the meat. You gotta good handle on it however.

Thanx Hey, check out her eye.. What do you think that is or is from? It's not just a glare in the picture either.. Its there no matter when you look at her eye... I'm refering to the lil light pale blue is dot in the center of her pupil.. There is a reflection in her eye over the spot in this photo.. But you can still see what I'm talking about pretty good..

From the pic it looks like a scar or a cataract. .. I had a dog back in oklahoma get cataracts in one eye. She got bit by a small rattlesnake and we never knew. How'd we find out?? I moved her dog house and there were baby rattlesnakes under there. Some dogs have a good immunity to stuff like that it just is bizarre. ALso at anytime if a foreign object hit her in the eye it would form a cataract type scar. JMO from the pic and zooming the other pics. If it grows.. its a cataract if it doesn't its a scar.

You are aware of the accident that cost the bulldog world Ch. Honeybunch? Keep that dogs back legs on the ground.

As regards fats , fat content is vital for longterm energy , dogs don't process their energy like humans , without the proper amount of fats your dog will hit the wall and gas out sooner than otherwise. Take a look at sled dog diets as an example , there are good reason why such diets run to a 50 percent fat content. The dog will be through the available carbs and into the fat store after the first 20 to 30 minutes of exertion.

Well get this.. She's had it since she opened her eyes.. All of her syblings did too in atleast one eye some both except one. She can see out of it.. It has crisp lines streaking from the center to the edge of her iris too.. I don't think any of the pups were blind though.. One had em in both eyes real big and he didn't see well, but he could see. He died.. but not bc of his eyes..

Thank you Old Dog, and no, I am not aware of this accident, but Yes sir either way.

Also I appreciate the added info on the diet. I'm having a difficult figuring out how to portion the raw stuff. Dog food has it written in nice little percentages on the back lol.. I also learned a lot of dog food is other cats and dogs pts collars, tags, and flea preventatives included as well as road kill, and cow head (ear tag insectacides) as well. At least that's what I read from a guy with the last name Biduk.. bestcatanddognutrition ?? Rendering plants.. gross.

Most of my food I get comes from the trimmings off carcasses at the butcher. I get trachs and lungs, livers, some other organs I'm not sure what they are..Small and brown surrounded my fat.. I get a lot of fat.. I get necks, peices of spinal colums parts of rib cages.. heads.. and other various tid bits.. I can identify alot of it.. But not all of it.. So should I avoid bone?

Honeybunch fell while using a springpole.

Personally I avoid bone , something you might wish to explore too is the use of the medium chain trigylcerides ( the fatless fats simplistically speaking) they provide the fat energy but don't store in the body like animal fats do , additionally fat intake will be easier to monitor as regards adding and subtracting fats if you utilise canola oil or olive oil.

For "early carbs" Cytomax may be of some value , it also buffers lactic acid buildup , feed on a cup to a pint of water a half hour to an hour pre-workout.

A post workout intake can be important , just as with human athletes , a scoop of Metabollol II and a tablespoon of canola oil works well , cool the dog out prior. In keep I split feedings , morning and evening.

In keep or training *never* let the dog get really hungry , look to human bodybuilders and powerlifters and many fighters and wrestlers who eat the equivalent of 5-6 small meals a day rather than two large ones , you're attempting to build a constant energy reserve while avoiding putting extra weight or fat on the dog.

By the way , dog food labels are in the order of percentage of content , if corn or wheat is in the first position then that's a major portion of the total content.

You also might explore the use of canned tuna ( oil packed) or canned mackerel.

I'm tall but in most of those pics where the sky is in the back ground I'm squatting down trying to get up under her.. She loves jumping and will jump either way, but I can reduce it. I take her up the hood, over the cab, and down the bed of our ol' one ton, lol She has got some ups. I also made an "A" frame that she loves.

I'll have to look into supplements although in the past I've spent money on them and wasn't greatly pleased with the results... But the new "meat based" dog food usually doesn't consist of the quality meats they lead you think.

Is a strict routine important in terms of workout times?

Also have you ever looked into liquid DMG as a supplement?
I've heard good things about it.

So.. Feed a.m. and p.m. small meals? I mean in terms of weight maybe like a lb day? .5 per meal? Heavy on fat, liver, heart, and fish?

In terms of oil.. What do you think of Peanut Oil? Nuts are a type of protein right?

I usually give her the juice from my tuna can when I drain it.. So I know she likes it. What about fish like bass? I feed whole fish to the dogs occasionally. Only about half will eat em though. Some of them like to eat live crayfish too! That is frickin hilarious. Bill, our am bulldog is scared of em. He bounces in circles snapping about two inches from it barking like a motard!

I'll try to throw a crawdad at Bill in plently good sunlight so I can get some pics of him. He's a big dumb f...

Yea, I wish I had a better camera! The delay in mine from the time I push the button to the point at which it actually takes the photo is enough to make me want to break my toes and then kick a brick wall bare foot! I have to push the button right before i drop the flag an inch or two to make her jump for it. And if I get lucky.. I get her in mid air.. Of course... I am liable to take 200 + pics in 20 minutes haha

And then again considering the condition of my camera in relation to the short amount of time I've had it.. i'm really not all that sure I want to go spend a small fortune on a badass camera that will need to be replaced in a year or so if that.

And if your refering to JTP's post "the dogs" yes. I read through that today

We are our kind of people.. so if thats like your kind of people, then i'd say we like similar company lol

Sorry for going off topic here, but what kind of camera are you using APASA? Can you not manually adjust your camera's settings to get a quicker shutter speed?
