I find the looser stool to be because it is not fully digested..and the hard is and has had all the nutrients sucked out. Lk has investigated it pretty well and uses a greyhound kibble and the science behind it. another good topic.

Firehazard 08-09-2013 05:06 PM

you wanna shit ice cream, powder cakes, or tar bombs? ..

Yeah, good kibble is really hard to find IMO ... I like frozen biljac is far as commercial goes. What do you like the best?

Took KU back out again with four wheeler to run, and she's favoring that same shoulder again. So yesterday I gave her day off, and that night we did some handwalking. As for today, I haven't seen her favoring it. Although I'll have a closer before I fully decide that. Her limp is faint the two times I've seen it, but I don't want to turn it into something serious.

ThaLadyPit : When I loose inspiration for photography I turn a few agreeable dogs loose somewhere safe and sit on the sidelines with my camera in my lap and just watch em from a distance. Usually it doesn't matter if it's birds, the sky, trees, a lizard, or the dogs.. I'll take a picture... and well.. I can't take just one! Don't set out with the shot you want already i mind. Just take some shots and worry about choosing the one closest to perfect later. Use your camera's zoom as Binoculars.

And About the poop, I guess since she does have liqui-shit or Compacted bone chalk she falls somewhere in the middle depending on the content of her meal and is ok? I always heard/read organs will make their poop runny, alot of bone/calcium will make it hard. I've sorta seen this pattern since feeding raw. I've learned feeding hunks of fat as their meal will give em the runs. Not that I feed them only fat all the time, but I usually don't worry too hard about balancing every meal every feeding , because the next day I might give a slab of beef ribs to that same dog, and he will eat it entirely giving em lots of bone and some meat but very little fat.

Yeah, I know about shooting randoms and finding the ones that really stand out when I review them.. I've just not even been motivated to pick the camera up. Guess this pregnancy thing and other stresses are getting to me. I'm sure I'll get back in the swing of things once my lil man is here lol.

Your gettin a good handle on it. No jumping with the shoulder, keep the flirt pole down and do more swimming to heal that shoulder less hard impact stuff.

Diet wise.. yes your good not liquid, nor powder .. somewhere in between. The fats shouldnt be eatin alone just some days more fats. Be sure to include pototaoes and greens or rice and greens. hanldwalking and swimming, light ball action keep it low.

For a dog that likes to jump, its easy to damage a joint, ligament, or muscle in flirt pole, spring pole, weight dragging can do this also if the weight is too much.

devonte151 08-11-2013 03:13 PM

All i do is handwlaking and chaining draging and hunting in the woods

Firehazard 08-11-2013 03:16 PM

In many times... ^^^^^^ thats all you need!

APASA 08-11-2013 06:24 PM

How do you make her eat rice greens and potatoes?? She just picks out the meat and looks at me like I'm stupid.

Swimming is difficult to do because the woman that bought fourty acres of my husband's Grandad's original farm from his uncle (who wanted to sell his inhereited portion of the farm) is an ol' prune who just can't seem to understand that just because she bought the land with the pond doesn't mean she controls the pond :) Atleast that's how he see's it and we and the neighbor (who lives 40-50 acres) on the other side of a pasture from us are at some sort "uncivil War". So I have to "sneak" to the pond. Not bc I'm worried about Prune Lady, but bc if she tries to tell me off, it will just add coals to the fire.. And KU is rather loud banging around in and out of an aluminum john boat. She doesn't fetch or I'd just through from the bank. I have to get the in the boat with her and then hang the flirt pole over the edge of the boat and let her swim (or try to swim) after it.

Last night when I took her for a walk she got after an armadillo and was biting at it but couldn't get a grip and lost it down a hole. She hasn't learned to dig em up yet. She was on full alert the rest of the walk haha.

Oh and her tail has a crook now she got it caught it the fridge door?! She was standing on the other side of the door while I had it open and somehow wagged it into the crack on the side where the hinges are. We have an older fridge you have to shut the door hard enough to make it latch.. It didn't latch.. but she gave a yelp, and the next day it is was swollen and bent. I used a plastic spoon handle and some vet wrap and made a lil splint. She just chewed it off.. I'm guessing that's kinda like a broke toe?

APASA 08-11-2013 06:27 PM

Any weight pulling we've done so far has been with a compition style harness. The heaviest thing I've hooked to her was a chain. Idk how much it weighs, but she pulled without much trouble at all for about 3/4 - 1 mile and was only lightly panting when we got home.

And here are a few more from this morning

Oh she caught her first hog this week! It was just our boar, but he was loose in the bay pen. We let the ol' bay dog in to corner him and then I turned her loose! She got a good cheek/jowl hold and stuck right there till we CALLED her off! I'm proud of her! One of our only bulldogs that doesn't (so far) half to have a breakstick to be released from a hog. SHe got a lil cut on her eye during the ordeal lol its right below her left eye :) She's growing up!

Sorry a lot of the pics are so dark.. it's hard to photograph her because she's white. The pics seem to turn out best when I under expose them. It helps the white from burning out .. but makes everything else dark..

I CAN SEE A DIFFERENCE!!! good job ... keep it up.. she'll be a solid lil hound in no time!!!

APASA 08-16-2013 09:54 PM

I know!!! I'm so excited about it!.. poor girl the more results I see the more I get pumped about the end result and the harder I work her ass off!

I was hoping the pictures would show the difference I'm starting to really see. And even more so I can feel it! When rubbing her down I can feel how her muscles have really toned up.

We had a good day today. Had her drag a tire down to the creek (1/2 mile) there were a couple water spots left down in the bed and for the first time ever it seemed like she opened up around me.

Boy was she showing out acting a fool! She kept sticking her face under the water blowing bubbles, and trying to dig a hole at the edge of the bank in the water! and was pissed bc it kept filling back up :) She would wade about chest deep with her mouth open and half way in the water chomping trying to catch semi floating leaves to bring to me haha! She even ran up and grabbed me on my shirt sleeve and started tugging and growling, bouncing around like a mo-tard! I've never seen her act like that with a person.. She'd play with other dogs sure.. but not people.

.... stinking lil dog's growing on me... I usually am hard to find close attatchments to a dog.. I have too many to try to make one special over the other.. but she's working on herself a soft spot.. stupid dog :) shux..
