DIY Dog Heaven

I am moving this Thursday. My pup, Zoey, will have the back yard to herself... Aside from me constantly playing with her. I am on a budget at the moment, and so I have decided to set up the perfect dog yard for her with as many DIY projects as possible.
So far I have:
Repaired the privacy fence where needed
Repaired and sanitized the dog house (previous people left one better than her current one).
She has water in a 5 gallon bucket, but I want something larger as the water gets dirty quickly. I change it daily, that's not the issue, she just somehow dirties up a bucket of water faster than my previous dogs. I was thinking of taking a plastic 55 gallon drum and cutting it down to provide more surface area.
I will be building a spring pole asap, though there are no trees in the yard so I will be building a structure of some sort. Any ideas besides the simple wooden frame are appreciated, I just like to do things uniquely or outside the norm.
Since there are no trees, I also intend to make a few shade spots in the yard. Currently I'm guessing just a few tarps stretched from part of the fence to a couple posts, any other ideas appreciated.
And that's really all I have so far in the way of ideas. I'd like to make this yard a long term project. I want to go above and beyond to create a great environment for Zoey. So any other ideas a dog would enjoy or at least make use of, again, is much appreciated. Did any of you craft things for your dogs? Bowls, obstacles, you name it. Give me some ideas.
Thanks for your time! Will update this thread from time to time with pictures.
