That looks like a long/show crop with bell.

Yea I'd say that's a show crop with bell. Some vets have different opinions about size and length, so make sure you find a picture you like and go for it. Good luck, I think red will be one cool pup with a crop.

Yeah this one is a show crop but on the very cusp of being a "short" long crop. For these kinds of dogs, I prefer a medium crop for length---the "tweener" crop that's a little shorter than show, but longer than a short crop.

For shape I like that dog you posted. IMO the outer ear should be nice and full/rounded and tapering up to the tips. Some vets will shape the ears a little too "Dobermanish" in all of their long to medium crop lengths looking like this: )___( I'm not a fan of skinny triangle shaped ears myself for these kinds of dogs, but some are. I prefer them to be more tapered like this /___\ with zero bell as well.

Can't wait to see how these ears turn out.

Yes in most areas but you don't crop tails on apbt or dogs bred from such (bullies, Oklahomabulldogs, ect)

Still Will, I think your dog is my favorite dog on here, (no offence to the other pups) What did you ask for? I like the non doberman ears, as he is not a doberman lol I just want them (wide?) enough to fit his huge head lol

Thanks!

I asked for is a medium crop & no bell. Now, what you should do is have pictures of cropped dogs you like ready to show the vet so they know what SHAPE you want. One vet's "default" medium crop might differ from what you have in mind so it's best to show them so there aren't any misunderstandings.

King's medium crop, no bell:

If your dog has "favorable" ears and also a vet who is skilled in cropping(remember that it's just as much art as it is surgery), you won't have to do any posting or taping. I didn't have to do any posting or tapings with my cropped dogs thank goodness.

This is King @ 15 weeks after having his stitches removed(he was cropped at 12 weeks):

Here's a diagram of the basic crops and how they should generally look on these dogs:

Medium is not shown, but it's between the show and short crop. In my opinion, a show crop is the tallest I'd go.

From what I can see they look a lot like King's ears, which I am very happy with, and everyone at the vets office is very caring and knowledgeable, I can see why they were so highly recommended. can't wait to see how they turn out
