Update on Enzo and our progress.... I'm 37+ wks today (will be 38 wks on Thursday)... Doc checked me for any progress today and says I'm 50% thinned out, and almost 1 cm dilated, and Enzo's head is down pretty far too. He said next appointment (next week), he'll check me again, and if I'm ready, we'll talk about having Enzo come into the world by Thursday! I've got just about everything ready to go... gotta wash all his stuff in baby detergent, and make his bed up, and pack our bags for the hospital, and the rest will fall into place. My boss is out of town this week, so I'm getting good hours at work, but I'm taking time to think about whether I want to be induced, or if I should just hang on for a couple more weeks and let him come when he's ready, which seems like it won't be too much longer anyway. Y'all might see a lot more of me, or I may go AWOL for a short time...either way, you'll know what's going on because I'll be sure to post it up.

Congrats!! Have you ever been induced? If you haven't I say DON'T DO IT!! My gyno warned me the labor could be a little worse but I was fat, miserable, sick as a dog, and was ready to meet my daughter. I had the most intense labor pains and wanted to die it was horrible. My sons birth was natural and literally didn't hurt a bit. I never cried at all. I'm not sure if you get an epidural and all that though it might help lol. I had one shot of pain meds in my IV and that was it with my daughter. I didn't have any meds with my son.

Yeah, I was induced with my middle daughter, at 42 weeks, and I hated the way it made me feel... harder labor, heavier contractions, but it was fairly short (4 hours of hard labor and 1 push and out she came, and she was the biggest at 21 inches, 8 lbs 4.6 oz and a 13 1/4 inch head). I didn't have the epidural with her, but did with her older sister, due to back labor, which resulted in a 13 1/2 hour labor, pushing for 1 1/2 hours (couldn't feel my contractions due to the epidural being too high). My youngest daughter was easiest, as I labored at home most of the day, soaking in a hot bath. By 9pm I was on the L&D floor, and by 11:15pm and 1 push, she was here!

I'm hoping for an easy labor with Enzo as well. I don't want to be stuck in the hospital longer than I have to be, and I would much rather allow my body to do the work naturally since there's no medical need for intervention. The old man hates seeing me in the condition I'm now, dealing with swelling in the tops of my feet that won't go down at night, even with my feet elevated, and the pain in my back/hips/pelvis since he's settled down farther. He says he's hardly sleeping because every time I try to turn over in my sleep I moan and groan in pain (which I know because I literally wake up to turn over), and he doesn't think I should continue to endure what "comes with the territory" if I have the option to get it over with earlier. I explained to him yesterday how being induced with my other daughter made me feel (as my first two children are by my ex-husband), and how miserable I was being stuck in the hospital bed and not allowed to walk around or leave my room due to the induction. He thinks it's a small price to pay to put an end to my so-called misery I'm dealing with, but I see it differently.

Everything is fine, no pre-e, no high blood pressure (actually it's been on the low side the entire pregnancy), and I'm at a healthy weight. The back pain was expected, since I've been through this before, and have a pre-existing back problem (pinched nerve and disc out of alignment). The swelling also comes with the territory, and doc says there's nothing to worry about since all my vitals are fine, and there's no redness or irritation at the site of the swelling. We're still in discussion about it, but I know ultimately, it's my decision as it's my body. Either way, I'll be sure to keep this thread updated.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that. I thought my last pregnancy was bad. You've got it way worse. That's got to be a tough decision but in the end whichever one you'll make will be the right one for you and baby. I want baby pics soon after!! I've had baby fever lately. My husband is 43 and I'm only 25 so I know if I want to have another and him really be helpful I need to do it now. I think internally I've made the decision already to not have anymore but it's hard to really convey. So for now I'm living vicariously through everybody else lol!

Well, I just turned 31 on Sunday, and my old man will be 52 in January, so it's not impossible lol. I'll definitely be posting pix as I can't help but to share all my babies (2 and 4 legged). I've got the cutest little outfit for him to wear home too! I picked it out months ago and waited for a sale to buy it lol. His first pair of shoes have little "bull dogs" on them lol. Yep, he's gonna be a dog man whether he likes it or not lol.

Sorry for the delayed response but we're still in the hospital. He's under the lights due to some jaundice but we should be cleared for going home by tomorrow morning. Here's a few pix... the one of me and Enzo i let Trinity take by herself and i took the other two. Will post better pix when we get home.

ETA: its not letting me post pix from my phone so i guess yall just have to wait anyways lol.

Okay... so we're home now, and I have a few minutes to post up a couple pictures.

Here's a couple shots from the hospital, sporting one of the outfits that our wonderful friend Shanna aka EckoMac got for him when I announced I was pregnant, and the 3rd is of him strapped in and ready to come home when they finally released us this evening.

I went to work, as scheduled Monday afternoon, though I'd been passing my plug (the cork that holds the baby in during pregnancy) since Sunday afternoon. I had a couple of minor contractions at work, but worked my full 7 hr shift, as scheduled. Got home about 930 pm, tried to eat some dinner but had no appetite. Was on the computer for a while, and decided to try and lay down about 1130 pm. Laid there in bed, and couldn't get comfortable, had contractions about 30 mins apart until about 1215 am. I got up, used the bathroom, drank some water, tried to get in a different position to see if they would stop or slow down. By 215 am, I had used the bathroom several times, drank water, and was sitting on the couch in the dark. By 245 am, my contractions were about 10 minutes apart, so I called my doctor's office, and was instructed to go to Labor and Delivery. Apparently, the doc didn't think after last week's check up that I would make it to my due date, so he already had L&D on alert to look out for me, and had it put in for an induction by today if I hadn't started labor lol.

So, I get to the hospital, and am in the ER/Admissions, and trying to get admitted, and at 249 am, contractions go from 10 to 3 minutes apart, so they had to forego fully admitting me and get me up to the L&D floor and finish checking me in up there. I was 90% thinned out, and 4 cm dilated at 315 am when they finally checked me and were trying to get an IV started. I labored through contractions, refusing an epidural or any pain meds as I knew I could handle it. They allow me to labor as they ask all kinds of questions about my medical history, allergies, etc. and by this time it's about 430 am when they check me again and I'm 7 cm dilated and still about 80%. They call my doc and they tell me he's on his way, and offer pain meds again and I still say no. When doc gets there at about 515am, he checks me, says I'm 90% and about an 8-9 cm dilated, so he breaks my water. A few more contractions while he's slipping on his gown and finishing setting up for delivery and I tell them he's coming, and I'm clamping my legs closed trying not to push with contractions. Doc is ready and has his catcher's mitt on and says it's okay to push on the next contraction, so when I felt the urge, I pushed, and out came Enzo's head. Next contraction, I push, and out comes the rest of Enzo! Official record is 550 am delivery time, with Enzo weighing in at 8 lbs 4 oz, 21 inches long and a 14 inch head! He came down so fast after my water broke, that his face was pretty bruised up, but he's healed nicely. We did have to stay a little longer than we wanted due to the bruising and a touch of jaundice, and he only lost 4 oz after delivery, but he's eating well and putting that right back on.

So, without further ado, here is Enzo Maurice, my lil man aka Big Daddy lol

My sleepy little man

Does he look like me?

All buckled up and ready to go home!
