We adopted Bravo back in August knowing that we would be in a military lifestyle. My boyfriend is in Air Force ROTC (looking to be a fighter pilot) and coming to the second semester of his second year. We have quite some time to figure out how it would work. We did some research way back before we adopted him because we've always wanted to have a pit bull. We know that there are regulations on base for Pit Bull and "other aggressive or potentially aggressive" looking breeds. We have planned for off-base housing and know that there is a risk with BSL
rising in some states.
I'm wondering if anyone's been in a military setting with their pit bull.
How did people react to you?
Did base housing let you in? (We did plan to live off base with Bravo from the start. - we will do anything to keep him)
Did moving countries ever stop you from having your dog?
in different states and countries prevent you from keeping your dog with you?
Another thing that may be of help is that Bravo and my other dog are both recommended by my doctors as Emotional Support Animals. Would that make any difference at all?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
