Question Very Pregnant Lady

I just adopted a year a half yr old pit from a kill shelter last week. She is going to the vet today bc she is very much pregnant. This will be her third litter according to the shelter. She is getting spaded as soon as it is possible. I am having a hard time getting her to eat well. I would appreciate any advise on the matter or any other info for birthing puppies. I didn't go in there expecting to walk out with a new dog loaded with pups but shes a very sweet girl I couldn't see her be out down.

Wow...I can not believe a shelter adopted out a dog not fixed AND on her supposed 3rd litter?! How do they know this is her 3rd litter? Apparently we have shelters breeding dogs now? At 1.5 years old and 3 litters, that is crazy! Poor dog
Sounds like a terrible shelter.
As for getting her to eat, put some water water in her food, coconut oil , liver and hopefully she will eat. She might not want to eat because she is going to be in labor soon.

Use the search tool on the top, and look up anything you might have questions about -- there are lots of threads on this topic as well as on google.

Do you have your vet on emergency call in case any issues come up?

Actually they are a pretty good shelter they do everything they can as in calling other rescues and shelter bf putting them down. They have us a voucher for a free spade when she's able. It just doesn't have enough funding to do more. Poor Sophie's previous family moved and couldn't take her so according to neighbors they tied her up out back at left. They didn't realize she was out there till quite awhile later. That's where the info came from. Thanks for the advise just want to make sure she is getting the proper care this time.
