Bella to the rescue.

Well we've come across a family and dog in need. theres a pitlab that has cancer, he's only 4 years old. he spends most his days laying around, he wont play with any dogs or puppys.
well then he met bella. this pitlab acted just like a puppy with bella and they act as if they grew up and new eachother for all there lives.
so i've had to make a decision. theyre vet feels they can prolong the life of this pitlab if something could lift his spirits up. and nothing has been able to.
except then he met bella. and they sat there and played and when it was time to go, bella and him whined for eachother it seems.
so i'm making the decision to give bella to help out this pitlab.
i've been considering this decision for about a week or 2 now. which is probably why i've been so distant from GP. its going to kill me because i've never met a dog with the personality of bella. no dog that i have ever met has such a big personality as bella does.
so... bella will be going to a new home and hopefully pro longing the life of this family's pitlab. they said they've never seen anything lift this dogs spirits up like bella.
sucks... im not sure what to think, i just hope this is for the better.
input anyone?
im really sad to see her go, but if this can seriously help this dog live longer, it will make this family happier. they've been trying everything with this dog and even the vet agree's that this would be a good idea.:(

In my honest opinion/suggestion... Is there any way that you could "Loan" them Bella? You love her so much maybe there's a way that you could make sure you get her back. If not, I wish you all the luck in the world.

Yeah that is what I was thinking....play dates and such? /shrug.

You are really brave. I dont think I could ever get rid of my bella. I have to say you would be doing a great thing.

I agree with alphamum and daynes. You should set up a schedule where they can play or have doggie sleep overs. Dont give your baby up when there are other ways of prolonging the other dogs life. So sorry to hear he has cancer.

Wow. Thats really kind hearted of you. That says alot about Bella and you. You get nothing but props from me.

Nizmo you are a true dogger, I can say myself I don't know if I am unselfish enough to do this myself but you truly deserve a pat on the back for even considering that.

well... we're sitting down and talking about it tomorrow. sorry im so late to reply i've been working A LOT. which is good i'm finally catching up bills.

I think me giving bella up to them full time will be less stress on the other dog, they will be together all the time so hopefully he will be happier all the time. thats my take on it. im sure if it doesnt work out, then we will get bella back. or else! lol jk kinda...

there is just something between the two of them that i cant quite describe, call it corny, but, i think this is bella's big chance to make a HUGE difference in a familys life. I still have Nismo. and i'm ok with that. but i will make sure that i get to see bella a couple times a week.

its going to kill me, but i honestly think that this is the right thing to do.

thanks for everyone's support, it helps a lot.

Well that is a big sacrifice you are making, you have a big heart and I am sure the family and the other dog will be most thankful.

Bella sounds like my Billy, an American Staffordshire Terrier I rescued years ago. My novel has just been released about his life. His name was “Billy Bob” and he never met a person he didn’t love. He knew how to relate to young and old, allowing for their reduced levels of activity and weaknesses. A wonderful and loving animal that became part of our family. The book is “Billy’s World”. The website is Billy's World by Bill Stauss - The Saga of an American Staffordshire "PitBull" Terrier . I hope it will help more people learn about these wonderful creatures. Bill Stauss

Bella left today... I already miss her and it has only been a couple hours.
The mood in this household doesn't seem right with her gone. I'm sure she'll be ok, but I think its going to be harder on me than her.

thanks man. im really upset about it im trying not to think about her so much because i know she'll be happy there and helping a family, but its killing me.
hopefully i'll feel better about it as time goes on, i guess it wont be so bad. i will get to see her whenever i want and i'll still get to see her grow up. but i still cant help but to think, thats still my ****ing dog.

i thought it would get easier day by day... but today has been the worst. i miss bella sooo much i can hardly bare it... Nismo keeps looking for her and expecting her to meet him at the door every time we come inside. we just went on a walk and I remember the spot where she pee'd on the side walk and he just sits there and sniffs it and just sits there...

man this sucks...
